I Prevail Songs Ranked

I Prevail is an American metalcore band formed in New Baltimore, Michigan, in 2013. They released their debut EP Heart vs. Mind (2014) and rose to popularity by releasing a metal cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” as a single, which eventually was certified platinum in the US. The band has since released two studio albums, Lifelines (2016) and Trauma (2019). The band found success with their original material as well, with the singles “Breaking Down” and “Hurricane” performing well on rock radio, the single “Bow Down” being nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2019, and Trauma being nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album the same year. 10. Low (Trauma, 2019)

“This band has no bad albums so far and this one is going to be hard to top. Every song is a banger, not a single bad one on this album. They pulled no punches in every song in matters of depression and losing loved ones. This album is as raw as it gets and they approached all sensitive topics at hand beautifully and respectfully.”

9. Crossroads (Heart vs. Mind, 2014)

“Absolutely incredible for their first album though. I’m very much looking forward to the work I Prevail puts out in the future. I Prevail is only going to get bigger and better from here!”

8. Alone (Lifelines, 2016)

“From the video and context, it’s clearly about a relationship. Maybe not necessarily the relationship ending, but them having an argument and she walks out but before either could reconcile, the woman is killed in a collision. This seems more to do with the regret of saying something particularly harmful and not having the chance to apologize, so the love of his life dies with nothing but the memory of his anger and he must live with the pain of knowing he still loved her, and her being gone and his last words to her being venom spewed out of spite and anger.”

7. Paranoid (Trauma, 2019)

“This album is a bit different in style and subject matter than the previous ones. Pretty much every song is a winner. I Prevail is a band to get into and enjoy for as long as possible.”

6. Lifelines (Lifelines, 2016)

“Good album overall. Some of the songs sound a little cheesy, like teenager lyrics, but the music is strong and heavy most of the time, which I like. There are a few songs that really stand out. I would definitely buy more from them.”

5. Scars (Lifelines, 2016)

“This album has a perfect combination of rhythm with edgy undertones. The band continues to mix solid vocals with an occasional thrash and does so without taking it too far. The mix is well balanced and does not sound forced but offers a great contrast.”

4. Heart vs. Mind (Heart vs. Mind, 2014)

“Truly listening to this album I felt the pain through the music. It’s a great album and through it you learn to never give up, keep fighting. I enjoy every single track.”

3. Hurricane (Trauma, 2019)

“To me this song is about a broken man after years of trying everything he can do to please the woman he loves, realizing that no matter what he does, no matter how hard he tries, she will never step up and love him and give him a real chance. She will only ever be a fantasy that tells him everything he wants to hear to keep him holding on. But when he gets too serious she runs away every time.”

2. Rise (Lifelines, 2016)

“This song is so inspiring, I blast it when I’m feeling down, someday when I’m headlining the news, this will be the song playing in my head, much love to I Prevail!”

1. Bow Down (Trauma, 2019)

“The first track from the album Trauma is coincidentally the best. They came out of the gate swinging with the sound, vibe, aggression, and hooks that I Prevail are known for. One of their heaviest songs yet, Eric truly takes the front seat vocally delivering what may be his best performance yet while Brian comes in with a swelling chorus that sweeps you up into the song even further. A must have track for those who loved Heart vs Mind and Lifelines. A true standout from Trauma.”
