J Balvin Albums Ranked
José Álvaro Osorio Balvín (born May 7, 1985), better known as J Balvin, is a Colombianreggaeton singer. He has been referred to as the “Prince of Reggaeton” (from Spanish: “Príncipe del Reggaetón”) and is one of the best-selling Latin music artists with sales of more than 35 million records (albums and singles) worldwide. Balvin was born in Medellín, Colombia. At age 17, he moved to the United States to learn English, where he lived in both Oklahoma and New York. He then returned to Medellín and gained popularity performing at clubs in the city. Though his music is primarily reggaeton, J Balvin has experimented with a variety of musical genres in his work, including electronica, house music, trap, and R&B. His original musical inspirations included rock groups such as Metallica and Nirvana, and reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee. He has collaborated with Latin American artists such as Ozuna, Nicky Jam, Alejandro Sanz, Bad Bunny, and Pitbull. Despite working with many English-speaking artists such as Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The Black Eyed Peas, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, and Major Lazer, J Balvin continues to sing almost exclusively in Spanish and hopes to introduce Spanish-language music to a global audience. He is also noted for his eclectic and colorful fashion sense. In 2020, J Balvin was included on Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people of the world, and as one of the Greatest Latin Artists of all Time by Billboard. Here are all of J Balvin’s albums ranked.

6. Energia (2016)
“The album starts off so well with Veneno and then Malvada! I love Bobo, kept going back to it. Even Hola towards the end was great! Really surprised and all the features are superb. Balvin can write such great hooks!”
5. Colores (2020)
“I do not speak or understand Spanish but this album is awesome. The beat is fantastic. Also with everything that’s going on in the world right now it’s great to have an artist release this knowing that sales are not as important as a positive message.”
4. El Negocio (2011)
“This is entirely cool and J Balvin took it to another stratum. as always,
the tunes are so much fascinating and there is an amazing blend of captivating tunes and pop beats. The concept of colors in each song of the album has just added uniqueness. I don’t speak and understand Spanish but I can definitely understand the language of music. J Balvin always does it.”

3. J Balvin Mix Tape (2012)

3. La Familia (2013)
“I had heard the song “6 A.M.” on two of the local Spanish stations while channel surfing in the car and was intrigued with the beat. I thought it was a reggaeton song but due to my VERY limited Spanish, couldn’t figure out the title or who the artist was. Determined to find out, I did ALOT of internet searching and finally on one of the stations, figured out that they listed songs that they had played at certain times. I found out the artist’s name, the song and checked out the CD samples on line and HAD to get it. Quite a few songs are danceable and I don’t think there’s a bad song on the CD! Well worth having! “
1. Vibras (2018)
“It is true, Vibras is above any competitor and shows solidity throughout its timing, an example that makes the difference in a genre where albums are made of fillers, collaborations between the same as always and out there some exciting singles. It falters on a few sides and the danceable vocation of the songs is compensated by interludes or tracks of a calmer cut: an achievement. But I don’t know, the album is made only for established situations and scenarios, the proposal is minimal and the magnifying glass in the international mainstream is evident.”
