7. Twenty Greatest Hits (1983)

“This CD contains all of Kenny Rogers’ top hits up to 1983. Included in this CD are the songs “Lucille”, “The Gambler”, “Lady”, “She Believes in Me”, “Coward of the County”, “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love to Town”, and “Love Lifted Me”. It also contains duets with Sheena Easton, Kim Carnes, and Dottie West. This collection is a must for any fan of Kenny Rogers.”

6. Ten Years Of Gold (1978)

“So this album contains just four original hits – Love lifted me, While the feeling’s good, Lucille and Daytime friends. Of the four solo tracks, Lucille was by far the most successful, going all the way to number one in Britain. It was also a major pop hit in America. Daytime friends was less successful but also charted in both countries. Love lifted me and While the feeling’s good are great songs but somewhat overshadowed by the other tracks here.”

5. Kenny (1979)

“He has such great songs, lyrics, and such a peaceful singing voice. I was surprised at how many songs are on here I had forgotten all about. I love it! I would say the best Kenny Rogers”

4. Eyes That See In The Dark (1983)

“This is an almost relentlessly up-tempo album, Seven of the ten tracks are up-tempo with just two ballads (You and I, Hold me) and one mid-tempo song (I will always love you). All the songs are originals and were written by the Bee Gees. The appearance of Dolly Parton on Islands in the stream tempts you to think that I will always love you is a cover of her song – it isn’t, though Kenny has recorded that song too.”

3. Kenny Rogers & The First Edition Greatest Hits (1971)

“The First Edition was built as a group with each member being capable of doing lead vocals. We’ve been lucky enough to get to know them and have been invited to a couple of the First Edition Reunions. Besides being wonderful performers they are super people and still sound good to this day. The Ballad of Calico is a must hear. You will be blown away!”

2. Kenny Rogers’ Greatest Hits (1980)

“This compilation was originally released to capitalize on the monumental success of Lady, which spent several weeks at number one in the American pop charts. That song, which was also a sizeable British hit that nearly made the top ten, never appeared on any of Kenny’s original albums so anybody who wanted Lady had to choose between this compilation or the single. Not that anybody really minded because we were due another compilation of Kenny’s music anyway since the previous compilation had been released and a lot had happened in that time.”

1. The Gambler (1978)

“Every song on this album is as good now as the day it was recorded. Even if you listen to it on LP or cassette. So good this is remastered but the only problem is it is hard to find new and you can only find it on the internet. I have looked in every music store and could not find a copy. So you might as well get it around here. Everything from the piano playing and guitar playing is Kenny Rogers at his best. Almost all his albums were good and I have always been a fan but this is my personal favorite. While Kenny Rogers Botox injections and face lifts may not last his music will live forever!”
