10. Float Along – Fill Your Lungs (2013)
“Fill Your lungs is a pretty iconic release in the their discography. It’s probably the main reason the group is known as a psychedelic rock band, and it’s certainly the most psychedelic in the classic sense of the word – sitars, wah pedals, and spaced-out production are all over this thing. But unfortunately, while the band does an awesome job at times with those sounds, the deeper cuts on the record end up feeling a bit forgettable at times compared to the lofty and trippy heights on display.”
9. Paper Mâché Dream Balloon (2015)
“SUPERB….. and NOTHING LIKE any of the other albums. This is a treat, a real hippy style recording for the Aussie group, its like being taken back the 60’s (i imagine). Flower-power with acoustics and flutes…just don’t expect this from their other albums. These boys also rock hard in a ‘stoner’ fashion. but not here! Here’s hoping they repeat this experiment at some point!”
8. Fishing For Fishies (2019)
“A strange album indeed. It’s hard to rate King Gizzard’s album for the simple fact that there really is nothing to compare it to. Even within their own discography, no two albums sound alike. With Fishing for Fishies, the band tries to find a solid medium between rock and pop without ever truly sticking the landing. Even with the combination of so many genres, the album can feel very monotone at times. However, the record is still full of charm and interesting melodies that are tied together with crisp guitar fuzz.”

7. Murder Of The Universe (2017)
” There are so many layers of sound to discover here and somehow they all come together at the perfect time. It is somehow simultaneously relaxing, engaging, exciting, and cathartic. How did they achieve this? I need to know. This is the kind of record that makes you feel a little sad when it starts winding down to the end, kind of like that feeling when the drugs are wearing off, (Just kidding FBI), and then when it’s over you immediately want to flip it and start again.”
6.Infest The Rats’ Nest (2019)
“This album takes the best of that upbeat energy and hones it into a metal frenzy with tracks that rip from start to finish. And then somehow each song sounds significantly different from one another while channeling a common metal theme. Homages to Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Pantera abound in a chugging, thrashy mix with Motorhead-inspired vocals. I never thought I’d hear a King Gizzard album that resists self-indulgence as hard as they do on this album, and the music is all the better for it.”
5.Sketches Of Brunswick East (2017)
“In Sketches of Brunswick East they team up with Mild High Club for an album filled with 60s style psychedelic jazz pop accentuated by modern sensibility and a 60s James Bond cocktail party feel. There are no breaks in the music. It flows well. Light, laid back, summery with flute, xylophone and Indian style horns used as accents it has a distinct vibe that I love.”

4. I’m In Your Mind Fuzz (2014)
“IMO their best album. These fellas let loose, and weren’t afraid to go on a nice and interesting psychedelic trip. They didn’t exactly go in the deep end but a lot of these tracks have their own unique flavor. If you enjoyed this album check out their others like ‘Float Along – Fill Your Lungs’ and then ‘Paper Mache Dream Balloon’. I didn’t really enjoy their latest album ‘Nonagon Infinity’. I felt they were trying to appeal to a wider audience with that one. They should stay weird and wacky like their previous body of works.”
3. Polygondwanaland (2017)
“Their albums definitely take multiple listens all the way through to appreciate their inventive and unique sound. Polygondwanaland is on the more experimental end of their musical spectrum, and the first time I listened to this album I loved it from the start. It has a very Prog Rock-esque feel to it, especially on the first track (Crumbling Castle), and varies in sound and tone throughout the album.”
2.Flying Microtonal Banana (2017)
“This is one of the most unique and awesome rock albums I’ve ever heard. The only way I can think to describe this album — again, other than unique and AWESOME — would be like a mashup of psychedelic, punk, and jazz but with a heavy Eastern (microtonal) theme. Hope to see more of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in the U.S. soon. Their other recent albums are equally mind-blowing, especially Nonagon Infinity.”
1. Nonagon Infinity (2016)
“The album begins with a long song suite, where several songs Segway into each other, just as in MIND FUZZ. However, if anything this album is just a little harder than MIND FUZZ. The guitars blare forth with a crisper distortion. The lyrics are a bit more caustic. I’d almost like to compare this to something like CREAM, or maybe even Camper Van Beethoven. Dark colors, a strong insistent beat, yet with an instantly enrapturing melody.”
