4. Set Me Free (CODE#03 SET ME FREE, 2019)

“I understood the melancholic nature of their releases after.. ..that incident. I was still supportive because those releases were good; even though each was a bit of a gut-punch. Still, I’ve been hoping they would start releasing material with more energy. “Feedback” was a good first step in that direction. This release, “Set Me Free”, just isn’t ringing any bells for me.”

3. Feedback (CODE#03 SET ME FREE, 2019)

“his is a funky song minus the actual funk. It would sound awesome with a live band. But here, not so much. Horns, yes, also a good bass, rhythm guitar, Hammond organ, go all out and this song would be a keeper. As it is now, it will just get lost among everything else, alas.”

2. The Rain (STRANG3R, 2016)

“On a melodic note, The Rain suffers from a distinct familiarity that becomes a once-you-hear-it-you-can’t-unhear-it situation. Specifically, the first half of the chorus sounds almost identical to Puttin’ On The Ritz‘s iconic hook. This is surely not the vibe the girls were going for, and distracts just enough to feel a bit off-putting.”

1. Galaxy (Strang3r 2016)

“Musically, Galaxy is incredibly subdued, marking a sharp turn from the peppy, uptempo sound that defined many of their title tracks in the past. The instrumentation lends the song a smooth, jazzy feel — a sort of modern take on electronic lounge music.”
