10. Black and White America (2011)
āWow, nothing beats new music from one of your favorite artist. Nothing except when it is a great release filled with an eclectic set of tunes with sharp lyrics, wonderful riffs, and more quality then you could have hoped for. For me this is exactly what happened with this purchase. Song after song, I couldnāt help but love them. Whatever your doing (living on a beach in the middle of nowhere) itās working Lenny! This could quickly become my favorite album that you have ever release. I strongly recommend this to anyone who likes good rock and roll, this album is fantastic.ā
9. Strut (2014)
āStrut is another step in the continuing process of the musical genius that is Lenny Kravitz. His 10th studio album shines as brightly as his first, Let Love Rule and the rich, heartfelt soul searching lyrics accompany the wonderful, soulful, funky music. Each song is a treasure. The Chamber gets stuck in your head for days. Sexy Sexy Sexy isā¦ Sexy. Happy Birthday is a wonderful new way to serenade the birthday of anyone and will be a new classic. And Ooo Baby Baby. Even though we love LK originals, this is so superb..Makes us want more covers from this star.ā
8. It Is Time for a Love Revolution (2008)
āI really enjoy this album every time I have a listen. Itās a bit āmoodierā than others ā Iād say it reminds me of another favorite so many disagree was āhot:ā āCircus.ā Loved that album to no end. This is not as strong, track-by-track, but definitely rocks and lyrics get inside your head. Favorite track, btw: āThis Moment is All There Is.ā Gotta love Lenny for stepping out and exploring new sounds.ā

7. Lenny (2001)
āSome of the songs kinda blend together but songs like If I Could Fall In Love, Yesterday Is Gone (My Dear Kay) and Dig In revive you from total monotony, the latter mainly the strongest and most noticeable melody. At first listen many, many months ago, I was ready to say goodbye and never listen to this CD again. Iām glad I didnāt! Lenny actually has a bit to say unlike his rapper counterparts, although his lyrics, While mostly done by him arenāt very amazing. All of the tracks are slower tunes or mid-tempos so you may get bored the first time through (like I did) but give it a chance, especially if youāre a fan.ā
6. Circus (1995)
āThis is in my opinion, his best, hugest rocking full on perfect album. It has bits of everything he does- huge riffin rock tunes, r n b, ballads, soulful tunes, spiritual themes, great riffs. This came along while grunge was massive to show what true classic rock was, and should be and that it is always going to be around in someway. perfect. Amen.ā
5. Are You Gonna Go My Way? (1993)
āLoved hearing some of the early development of the songs, particularly those that had the music already developed to an extent but only had scratch vocals accompanying the track, save for any chorus lyrics here and there that Lenny had in mind to definitely include in the song. Plenty of rare tracks, both previously released and unreleased, so if you needed to catch up, itās here.ā

4. 5 (1998)
āTo this day, this is probably still my favorite Lenny Kravitz album. Coming off a 3-year hiatus which saw him coping with his motherās passing due to cancer (TV actress Roxie Roker), Lenny came back fully rejuvenated on his career-defining ā5ā release. This time he doesnāt shy away from electronic sounds and even recorded the whole thing digitally (a complete first for him). The old school-inspired funk and soul side of him finally comes roaring out on standout tracks like the horn-and-drum fueled opener āLiveā, the hit single āI Belong To Youā, āThinking Of Youā (dedicated to his late mother), āItās Your Lifeā, the James Brown-influenced instrumental āStraight Cold Playerā, and the classic-sounding R&B ballad āLittle Girlās Eyesā (written for daughter Zoe).ā
3. Let Love Rule (1989)
āThis album rocks. I love the modern retro sound of Lennyās early work. Some of the tracks are reminiscent of what a modern Curtis Mayfield would sound like. If you have never heard any of Lenny Kravitzās earlier recordings you really should give this album a try. IMHO, his earlier work is far superior to his more recent recordings.I highly recommend this album and itās a must have for any Lenny Kravitz collection !ā
2. Are You Gonna Go My Way (1993)
āItās a brash and busy album, but Kravitz tends to focus too much on forging a sound rather than building solid song structures, giving much of the record the feel of pre-production jams as opposed to a finished article, though heās on top form when he dials down the bombast for the smooth soul of Sugar and Black Girl. The bonus disc gathers together B-sides and radio sessions, but the most intriguing tracks are the three demos of songs he wrote for the debut album by model-turned- singer Vanessa Paradis.ā
1. Mama Said (1991)
āMama Said made me start to look at Rock and Roll a whole new way. Being a person who prefers R&B, Jazz and Hip-Hop, I was sort of close-minded to Rock and Roll. Lenny changed all of that with his release of Let Love Rule. I was still in denial though because I thought that his āFreshman Effortā was a fluke. Boy, was I wrong!!! The same guy who introduced me to Let Let Rule just happened to pop in this CD and my ears instantly perked up because I recognized the voice as the same as the one on Let Love Rule. After listening intently to the first few songs and the honesty in his lyrics as well as his superior musical ability, I had no choice but to conclude that this guy was going to be around for a while so I might as well get use to buying his material. He single-handedly changed my view on Rock and Roll.Ā ā
