3. Lizzobangers, 2013

Lizzobangers - Wikipedia

“Listening to “Lizzobangers” seven years later…. there’s no doubt that Lizzo was destined for stardom. This debut is such a stellar coalescence of several different styles of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music. “Lizzobangers” fits in with other Minnesota greats like P.O.S. and the aforementioned / represented Marijuana Deathsquads.”

2. Big Grrrl Small World, 2015

Lizzo – Big GRRRL Small World (2015, Purple, Vinyl) - Discogs

“One of the most underrated releases, hip hop or otherwise, of the year. She’ll have these really intricate beats that remind me of Missy Elliott & then it’ll abruptly turn into something else. The messages of love & my skin are incredibly important too”

1. Cuz I Love You, 2019

SINGLE REVIEW: Lizzo – Cuz I Love You – ThomasBleach

“I really enjoyed Lizzo’s sparky, the feisty vision of pop/rap, classic soul, and funky disco. Her personality shines right through and even though its themes of self-love and empowerment are to the fore she never lets it get close to being preachy, there is plenty of humor and filth applied here. Instead, it’s very much fun throughout, none of the tracks hang about too long and her voice is joyous, her rapping pretty good too. The Missy Elliott collaboration makes perfect sense.”
