Lo Barnes creates a cinematic Western epic with haunting new single ‘Heaven Was His Name’
Margate-based singer-songwriter Lo Barnes delivers a breathtaking fusion of atmospheric folk and widescreen orchestration on her latest single ‘Heaven Was His Name’.
Exploring the emotional devastation of betrayal and shattered illusions, the nearly six-minute composition unfolds like the soundtrack to a forgotten Western, combining intimate storytelling with an increasingly magnificent musical arrangement.
Beginning with sparse instrumentation and her evocative vocals, the track gradually introduces dramatic percussion, sweeping strings, resonant piano and soaring electric guitar, culminating in a spectacular cinematic finale.
Produced entirely by the artist, the single offers another glimpse into her ambitious ‘HEAVEN’ project, a trilogy of EPs examining disillusionment, identity and female empowerment. Its first instalment, ‘Part I: The Veil’, arrives December 10th.
Having previously earned recognition from BBC Introducing and shared stages with The Libertines, Jesse Jo Stark and The Wave Pictures, Lo Barnes continues to distinguish herself through her imaginative songwriting and powerful vocal performances.
