Lost in the City find salvation at the bar on ‘Thursday Night at Johnny’s (Neon Halos)’

Kansas City pop-punk newcomers Lost in the City turn one of life’s lowest moments into something unexpectedly celebratory on new single ‘Thursday Night at Johnny’s (Neon Halos)’.

Built around bright guitars, soaring hooks and a healthy dose of 90s pop-rock nostalgia, the track was inspired by the week a band member lost a much-loved job. With nowhere particular to go, a Thursday evening at local haunt Johnny’s Tavern became an unlikely source of comfort as its bartenders offered conversation, company and a place to belong.

As the night progressed, the bar itself began to take on almost religious imagery. Neon lights became halos and rows of bottles resembled stained glass, transforming an ordinary neighbourhood watering hole into a temporary sanctuary.

That evening ultimately marked the beginning of a new community at a moment when another had suddenly disappeared.

Featuring Shane Radford, Andy David, Tyler Hicks and Ellis Mays, Lost in the City capture that contradiction beautifully as a loud, uplifting pop-punk song born from a genuinely difficult week, celebrating the people who make hard times easier simply by being there.
