Love at First Sting is the ninth studio album by German heavy metal band Scorpions. It was released on 27 March 1984 on Harvest/EMI in Europe and Mercury in the US. The album contains “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, “Still Loving You”, and “Big City Nights”, three of the band’s most famous songs. The album was recorded in 1983 and 1984 at Dierks Studios in Stommeln, West Germany. Initial sessions took place in Stockholm’s Polar Studios in the Summer of 1983 with ex-Rainbow members Jimmy Bain on bass and Bobby Rondinelli on drums, but nothing made it to the final album. Love at First Sting is notable in that it was one of the first digitally recorded heavy metal records ever released. It became the group’s most successful album in the US, where it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1984, and went double-platinum by the end of the year, reaching triple-platinum status in 1995. The song “Rock You Like a Hurricane” reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the same year; “Still Loving You” reached number 64 on the same chart, number 14 in Germany, and number 3 in the French and Swiss single charts. 9. The Same Thrill
“The Same Thrill” is a party song, loud and blazing, though with slightly repitious lyrics. a fast paced song, Sounds kinda rushed though”
8. As Soon as the Good Times Roll
“As Soon As The Good Times Roll” is a little quieter, but just like everything else on this album, it rocks nicely. Starts off softly saying that you shouldnt let the bad times ruin your life, then the pretty catchy chorus comes in but my favorite is the bridge very melodic.”
7. I’m Leaving You
“Kinda a mixture of a mid tempo rocker/ballad which works really well. Which reminds you of earlier songs like “No One Like You” or “Can’t Live Without You”, quite good.”

6. Crossfire
“A nice slow burning song with Matthias and his laser shooting guitar. Their best effort to date even better than Blackout, which I never thought could happen.”
5. Bad Boys Running Wild
“This first track is in your face from the start. I love how klaus sings the first verse, but instead of the chorus you get a pause, then the guitar riffs start again with no voice. I love it. The chorus itself is great as well. the bass is also excellent in this song. One of the best ive heard from them.”

3. Big City Nights
“Big city Nights- i love the opening riffs to this song, as soon as it starts my eyes light up and i know its time to party . Everytime i hear the chorus i always stand up and shout “BIG CITY!!!!!!BIG CITY NIGHTS YOU KEEP ME ROCKIN!!!!!!! another great song.”
2. Rock You Like a Hurricane
“I feel is one of the best songs ever composed, musically, and lyrically and the solo is a masterpiece. but for the people who only know scorpions for this song, you need to expand.”
1. Still Loving You
“Last but certainly not least, of one of greatest love ballads ever written. It starts off slow and sort of hypnotic , but picks up intensity every verse until the end when he just lets his emotions go when he sings “STILL LOVING YOUUUUUUUUUUUU I NEED YOUR LOVE STILL LOVING YOUUUUUUUUUU.” brings chills up my spine. This is a must have cd.”
