LUX the band confront a nation in turmoil with defiant folk-rock anthem ‘Heed (America’s Got a Gun)’

There’s something unmistakably powerful about music that refuses to remain silent, and on their stirring new single ‘Heed (America’s Got a Gun)’, Paris-based duo LUX the band revive the rebellious spirit of classic protest rock with remarkable conviction.

Drawing upon the socially conscious songwriting of the 1970s, New York-born vocalist Angela Randall and French guitarist Sylvain Laforge deliver a passionate examination of contemporary America, questioning how the ideals of freedom and unity have become overshadowed by division and violence.

Rich acoustic textures collide with gritty electric guitars, distorted basslines and driving percussion, creating an exhilarating folk-rock arrangement that recalls the timeless influence of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

Randall’s commanding vocals bring urgency to the song’s politically charged narrative, while Laforge’s expressive guitar work gives the production an infectious, rebellious energy.

The single also introduces Virtual 45, a two-track project completed by the contrasting, optimistic ‘The River Flows to the Sea’, arriving November 12.

With ‘Heed (America’s Got a Gun)’, LUX the band deliver a compelling reminder that great protest music doesn’t simply reflect the times; it challenges listeners to question them.
