10. Smiling Face (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“Another song with a nice beat to it. Once again, the melody is not as memorable and catchy as the rest, but is still a very good quality song. Still makes my ears happy and there’s nothing wrong with it. It gets better every time.”

9. Do You Know What You Want (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“A different style from the previous tracks. This song has a heavier beat and more of a rock-pop feel to it. However, the melody is a little too simple and is not as memorable as some of the other songs.”

8. Don’t Mess with My Love (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“The acoustic guitars in “Don’t Mess With My Love” are a nice touch. The electric guitar is reminiscent of WP. Both make this mid-paced song into single material. I really like this song. It’s not one of the Best… but it’s really close up there! I bet a lot of girls can relate to this.”

7. Our Song (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“With “Our Song” they borrow the chorus of the Bee Gees’ “Too Much Heaven” while still making the rest of the song a lush tender ballad. It starts off like an Ace Of Base ballad with a Phil Spector-ish wall of sound, then launches into the familiar “Nobody gets too much heaven no more”.”

6. Girl in Your Dreams (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“A Great backbeat! Slower, but just as good. The only part that I think should be changed is that the Chorus of this song sounds exactly like the rest of it. I think there should have been an extra part to this… explaining these lyrics: “You said that we are meant to be” then later it says “You told me everything was a lie”. I dont understand why a guy would say that two are meant to be, and then say that it was a lie. Overall, this is a nice song with another good message”

5. Mirror Mirror (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“One of the best songs on the album. A LITTLE bit faster than The Day You Went Away. Another wonderful message. Kind of like when you have a great relationship and everything is going well, then you say something that tears it apart, and you want to see it like it was before, and change your ways, but its too late. The chorus also says it: “Mirror Mirror hanging on the wall, you dont have to tell me who’s the biggest fool of all, Mirror Mirror I wish you could lie to me, and bring my baby back….” It is a great song. I requested this song at my sixth grade graduation dance. My favorite lyrics are: “If all my wishes could be dreams and all my dreams could come true”

4. Pretty Boy (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“This is just a silly little ballad about a Pretty Boy, but its a very pretty song indeed, gorgeous melody and harmonies. Heck it was even translated and sang in Mandarin as well! Slower than the other ballads, this song once again features the best of their vocal qualities when they sing together to produce a wonderful sound in the chorus.”

3. The Day You Went Away (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“his song has a really nice beat, and It gives the girls a mix of vocals. Dont take it from me, listen yourself. This I hope will be the next single, because it is a great song. My favorite lyric to this song is “Did I lose my love to someone better, and does she love you like I do….” which is followed by the chorus. This is not as fast as “Dont Say You Love Me”

2. Everything You Do (Shades of Purple, 2000)

“The opening of this song has a very soothing vocal arrangement that makes you think it is another ballad. Then, the speed picks up and turns into this surprising good and catchy semi-fast song. ts a fun song about someone you love that you want to really be with, but other people don’t want it to work out.”

1. Don’t Say You Love Me (Pokémon: The First Movie soundtrack and Shades of Purple, 2000)

“Featured in “Pokémon: The First Movie” (well, actually it was just played near the end of the credits). This is a catchy teen-pop bubble gum song. The arrangement and the vocals are very nicely done and blends in quite well. This version has a little lyric modification from the soundtrack version. In the first verse, the line: “Sitting there, you said you loved me” from the soundtrack has been changed to “Sitting there, you start kissing me”. Interesting. Maybe they didn’t want to promote kissing to the younger audience who watches Pokémon. But, I like the soundtrack line better; it fits in better with the song.”
