Mamamoo Songs Ranked

Mamamoo (Korean: 마마무, stylized in all caps) is a South Korean girl group formed by RBW (formerly WA Entertainment) in 2014, composed of four members: Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa. The group officially debuted with their single “Mr. Ambiguous” on June 18, 2014. Their debut was considered by some critics as one of the best K-pop debuts of 2014. They are recognized for their retro, jazz, R&B concepts and their strong vocal performances. The group name “Mamamoo” is symbolic of the first time a baby babbles. In addition, it has the meaning of approaching instinctively and primitively like a baby. Here are all of Mamamoo songs ranked.

10. Starry Night (Yellow Flower, 2018)

“This is such good song, and such a beautiful video. Every single setting is so beautiful, and I love music videos like this that don’t have as much CGI or green screens. I think mamamoo is underrated because they don’t follow “trends” and they have different type of music that we are not used to hear, but their music is on another level.”

9. Decalcomanie (Memory, 2016)

“Still to this day that has to be my favorite Moon Byul Rap, like the beat of the music and her flow just sound so damn good put together. Like I knew she was a great rapper but now she is honestly in my top three of my favorite female Rappers in K-Pop.”

7. Taller Than You (Melting, 2016)

“Everybody is talking about how this song has no meaning and it’s only a diss track for Wheein, but it’s not true. It is very meaningful, it shows how idols in kpop are categorized by their weight or height, by all these webs with kpop profiles. It’s like in prison (orange suits and this black and white board, idk how is it called). I think that’s a very valuable song”

6. AZE GAG (Purple, 2017)

“This is the one mamamoo song I don’t have any idea about the lyrics or won’t get the essence of. But the video and the beat is so fun I listen to it often. I love how Solar did such interesting things with her voice in this. And she’s incredibly adorable on top of it all.”

5. Um Oh Ah Yeh (Pink Funky, 2015)

“MAMAMOO has to be the most well rounded all around group right now. They can go from cute and sweet to soulful and mellow without sounding or looking like they are out of their league. They can do it all and should be praised as such!”

2. Piano Man (Piano Man, 2014)

“I don’t consider Mamamoo as part of KPOP groups. They are more than that! I will consider them as a group of korean musicians/artists/performers/whatever you wanna call them. Those vocals though. No other group sounds like this. They are real singers, they dont need to hide behind anything”

1. HIP (Reality in Black, 2019)

“I love how real this group is, they don’t have to care if their hair, costume, or appearance isn’t perfect. They just do stuff their way and the way they are, this proves that nobody’s perfect and we don’t have to try to be.”
