Mock Media deliver riotous new single ‘Mock City Rock’

British Columbia collective Mock Media return with explosive new single ‘Mock City Rock’, a feral, high-voltage anthem taken from the band’s upcoming album Rat Bastard, arriving July 17 via Mac’s Record Label.

Made up of childhood friends Evan Aasen, Garnet Aronyk Muhammad, Austin Boylan and Bennett Smith, the band channel pure chaos and camaraderie into a track bursting with garage-rock attitude, punk urgency and swaggering classic rock energy. Fuelled by jagged riffs, pounding drums and an infectious sense of momentum, ‘Mock City Rock’ feels tailor-made for packed venues and sweat-soaked late nights.

Drawing inspiration from the reckless spirit of bands like MC5, XTC and the New York Dolls, the single captures Mock Media at their most unfiltered and electrifying. Beneath the distortion and raw power lies a deep sense of unity between the four musicians, whose shared history continues to shape the band’s unpredictable sound.

The release offers another glimpse into the unruly world of Rat Bastard, a record built on experimentation, emotional intensity and a refusal to follow convention. While the band leap between styles across the album, ‘Mock City Rock’ stands proudly as its loudest and most immediate statement yet.
