Montgomery Gentry Albums Ranked
Montgomery Gentry is an American country music duo founded by singers Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, both Kentucky natives. They began performing together in the 1990s as part of two different bands with Montgomery’s brother, John Michael Montgomery. Although Gentry won a talent contest in 1994, he reunited with Eddie Montgomery after Gentry was unable to find a solo record deal, and Montgomery Gentry was formed in 1999. The duo is known for its Southern rock influences, and has collaborated with Charlie Daniels, Toby Keith, Five for Fighting, and members of The Allman Brothers Band. On September 8, 2017, Gentry died in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey, where the duo was scheduled to perform that evening. The helicopter pilot died at the scene and Gentry died as he was being rushed to the hospital. Despite Gentry’s death, Montgomery continues to tour under the Montgomery Gentry name and has pursued a solo career. Here are all of Montgomery Gentry albums ranked.

8. You Do Your Thing
“This is one dynamic duo! It doesn’t get much better then this. Country and rock do mix, this is the result. The best of both genres! Country at it’s best. My favorites on the album are; “something to be proud of”, “you do your thing”, “if she ever stops loving me”, “Gone”. This is a great album in it’s entirety. If you love country music this is a must have album. Even if you don’t you’ll love this album. You’ll find your fingers tappin along to the beat before you know it.”
7. Tattoos & Scars
“The first album from Montgomery Gentry is a very enjoyable Southern Rock romp. They had a sound that was rockier, and a change to the more pop sound which dominated the charts at the time. The album is in the traditional southern rock style, think The Marshall Tucker Band or even the The Allman Brothers Band. But when they choose to slow it all down, they can crank out some excellent country sounds as well.”
6. Rebels On The Run
“Such a great album! It’s really hard to pick a favorite, but I must admit I really love these guys. It’s real country with great guitar and everything else. I would recommend it to anyone who loves country, or is new to the genre – they will love it.”
5. My Town
“This is definitely one of the duo’s best albums ever released. The title track hooks you in with the classic piano intro and its down to earth lyrics really relate to the average country music listener. Speed and Hell Yeah are two other great tracks on the album and there is a reason why this album went platinum in 2002.”

4. Folks Like Us
“This is great, its classic mg lyrics with a SMALL bit of new sounds. i hate bro country and this is a far cry from it, every track has an older sound except maybe headlights, thats my least favorite song on here, not bad but not great. This is one helluva rockin album!”
3. Carrying On
“Montgomery Gentry provides something that has been missing from country music for far too long. They provide a dose of “hard country” that doesn’t try and pretend to be a pop crossover. Their music is neither jingoistic nor is it blatantly anti-American. Some may be convinced that they sing to “red state” values while others will be equally convinced that “blue state” working class people are the audience. The truth is that the audience is anyone who likes hard charging country music.”
2. Back When I Knew It All
“Montgomery Gentry are one of the few duals out there that still sing “true” Country Music. Their music tells a story. Sometimes it makes you laugh, sometimes it makes you stop and look at your own life situations, but it all gives you a great feeling when you listen to it. This is absolutely one of my favorite CDs in my huge collection of country music!”
1. Some People Change
“Not a bad track on this album! If you are an MG fan, you will not be disappointed. The title song ranges from country ballad to gospel, getting you to chime in on the chorus. “Clouds” will rip your heart out and make you shed a few tears; Eddie sings it with heartfelt emotion.”
An interesting discussion is price comment. I think that you need to write extra on this subject, it might not be a taboo topic however generally persons are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers
I am not real good with English but I get hold this real easy to interpret.
