Morningside Drive bring MySpace-era favourite ‘Everybody Dance’ to streaming

Houston alternative rock band Morningside Drive are revisiting their early years with the first official DSP release of ‘Everybody Dance’, two decades after the track originally found an audience online.

Emerging from Houston’s underground emo and alternative scene during the early 2000s, Morningside Drive built their following through touring, energetic live shows and platforms such as MySpace and PureVolume. ‘Everybody Dance’ became one of the clearest examples of that grassroots momentum, reportedly accumulating more than one million plays before today’s streaming ecosystem had taken shape.

Featuring the classic lineup of Gabriel Cavazos, Ryan Dove, Kenyon White, Jon Alksne and Micah Miller, Morningside Drive combined melodic alternative rock with the intensity of post-hardcore, drawing influence from Deftones, Glassjaw, Failure and Refused.

Following reunion performances and renewed interest in their catalogue, the return of ‘Everybody Dance’ provides a fitting link between the band’s MySpace-era beginnings and their growing second life in the streaming age.
