Onesie confront grief head-on with explosive new single ‘Twilight Years’
Brooklyn outfit Onesie return with ‘Twilight Years’, a raw and unexpectedly direct release that channels personal loss into something loud, restless and strangely life-affirming.
Lifted from their upcoming album Way Thousand Bump To The Sky (out June 18 via Sell The Heart Records), the track sees the band trading their usual abstraction for something more exposed. Written in the wake of frontman Ben Haberland’s father’s passing, it navigates grief with a mix of sincerity and offbeat humour.
Sonically, it builds from restrained beginnings into a surge of distorted guitars and driving rhythms, echoing the spirit of bands like Guided By Voices and Built To Spill while retaining its own chaotic identity.
Recorded with Travis Harrison, ‘Twilight Years’ stands as the emotional centrepiece of the record, delivering a cathartic release that turns reflection into momentum, and loss into something that still moves forward.
