Pit Pony return with mythic new single ‘Thunder’

Newcastle favourites Pit Pony have made their return with ‘Thunder’, their first new material since last year’s acclaimed album Dead Stars and another powerful reminder of why the five-piece have become one of the UK’s most compelling alternative bands.

Inspired by a childhood memory of a storm and a story that blurred the line between imagination and reality, the track transforms towering riffs and rumbling low-end into something both imposing and strangely uplifting. Rather than shying away from folklore and fantasy, the band embraces them, weaving references to ancient gods and old beliefs into a song that explores resilience in turbulent times.

Recorded shortly before the band stepped back to welcome a new addition to the family, ‘Thunder’ captures a group eager to bottle the energy of fresh ideas while they were still crackling in the air.
