Poptones unleash their heaviest moment yet with ‘Mirror World’

Copenhagen alt-rock outfit Poptones dive into distortion and disorientation on their explosive new single ‘Mirror World’, the third taste of their upcoming album ‘Pure’ (out September 26th).

Marking their most metal-leaning track to date, the song pairs jagged tempo shifts and searing vocal work from guest Victor Kaas with a backdrop that draws from dissonant indie, grunge grit, and chaotic improvisation. What began as a jam between drummer Mads and guitarist Simon in 2022 has since evolved into a full-blown anxiety spiral in sound; restless, volatile, and fiercely alive.

Exploring the headspace of racing thoughts and mental unrest, ‘Mirror World’ swings violently between moments of calm and eruption. Already landing on editorial Spotify playlists in Denmark and Iceland and featured by outlets like Metalheads Forever and Bizarre UK, this release confirms Poptones as a band unafraid to shape-shift, and shout back at the void.
