Rock n’ Roll Nights Songs Ranked
Rock n’ Roll Nights is the eighth studio album by Canadian rock band BTO, released in 1979. This record was one of three BTO albums that did not feature co-founder Randy Bachman. Rock n’ Roll Nights is also one of the two albums from this band to feature Jim Clench, formerly of April Wine. This LP generated worldwide sales of only about 350,000 copies, though a single from the album called “Heartaches” managed to reach #60 on the U.S. charts and cracked the Top 40 in Canada. Rock n’ Roll Nights is a rare find on CD, as it was released only for a short time on that format in 1990. The band used multiple outside songwriters on Rock n’ Roll Nights, including Jim Vallance of Prism and Bryan Adams (who penned the song, “Wastin’ Time”). C.F. Turner and Jim Clench would later appear as session musicians for Adams’ debut album in 1980, where Adams recorded his own version of “Wastin’ Time”. Here are all of Rock n’ Roll Nights songs ranked.

9. Amelia Earhart
” I have to say that my favorite song is “Amelia Earhart.” It is a great tune about the first woman airplane flyer. This should be one of their finest albums.”
8. End of the Line
“The BTO that swept the hit charts in the 70s would disband this work for the last time. I think there was no frontman to recover the heyday voltage, and it was inevitable. But this board is a masterpiece with an impression that does not make them feel cut at all as it concludes their activities.”
7. Wastin’ Time
“This is their first album which doesn’t really sound like B.T.O at all really. The last few albums were also different but still had traces of their old sound, but I don’t hear much of that here. It’s different probably because of the outside writers which makes it seem like another band.”

6. Heaven Tonight
“The last LP from BTO’s original run is not bad at all. A basic Rock ‘N’ Roll sound and feel to it. Clean production. Jim Clench helps to add a new direction to the groups sound with fine results.”
5. Jamaica
“BTO is great and this album proves it. The songs are right on the money. Jamaica is a song that makes you think of warm days and beaches. The BTO that swept the hit charts in the 70s would disband this work for the last time. I think there was no frontman to recover the heyday voltage, and it was inevitable.”

4. Heartaches
” Turner’s “Heartaches” is one of the highlights here and was a low charting single. Funny enough, that does not describe the music contained within. The musicianship is tight, Blair Thompson’s lead guitar playing is inspired, and the songs are lean.”
3. Rock and Roll Nights
“A lighter AOR album. Sits alongside Bryan Adams etc . If I remember correctly the writers on several numbers was Adams co-writer I might be wrong there. Still despite that I really liked it though Turner’s shouty “Rock and roll hell” is!”
2. Here She Comes Again
“Here she comes again is a fine tune. The band went for more of a radio friendly approach on this one. The groups second post Randy Bachman effort shows a considerable improvement in the songwriting and sound quality.”
1. Rock and Roll Hell
Rock and Roll Hell is about how music can trap an artist and leave him where he has no control over his or her career. The groups second post Randy Bachman effort shows a considerable improvement in the songwriting and sound quality.”
