SANDS unveils surreal new single ‘So Real’

London-based psych-pop artist SANDS returns with ‘So Real’, a sweeping, cinematic new single that drifts between reality and illusion. It marks the first half of a two-part project, with companion track ‘Pirate’ arriving at the end of November.

On ‘So Real’, SANDS channels the theatrical grandeur of Bowie’s Berlin era and the noir intensity of Nick Cave, pairing lush piano arrangements with shadowy, dreamlike lyricism. The track moves through modern cityscapes like a hallucination; beautiful, distorted, and strangely honest.

With his signature blend of psychedelia, dark pop, and surrealist storytelling, ‘So Real’ captures SANDS at his most immersive, a prelude to the hypnotic duality of ‘Pirate’.
