10. Thoughts Without Words (The Art of Balance, 2002)
“This was when they weren’t worried about sounding mainstream and were just themselves and I have absolutely NO doubt that AOB is their best album and this is one of the best songs from it.”
9. To Ashes (Somber Eyes to the Sky, 1997)
“The bass and rum intro is just killer and the song lyrics are so beautiful. Brings tears to my eyes every time. Fast, thrashy, heavy, powerful, epic, melodic, and a fantastic solo.”
8. A Fire in Babylon (The Art of Balance, 2002)
“A Fire in Babylon” has some progressive like drum work and not to mention is up there as one of Shadows Fall best tracks. Although the track is in the seven minute range, it doesn’t overstay its welcome and is one of the tracks on the album that the listener must listen to.”
7. The Unknown (Fire from the Sky, 2012)
“That guitar part is aggressive! Very intense, very in your face, very fitting for an opening! This intro actually really caught me by surprise and the song itself follows off the momentum quite well. Brian’s vocals really bring out the chorus and the guitars are just shredding the heck out of the song! The drumming is extremely good, the solos, are quite good, and the song as a whole is extremely good! I really enjoy this song! Great chorus!”

“The guitar riffs are memorable and the drum work by Jason Bittner (especially on the track “Destroyer of Senses”) is a reason why Shadows Fall is considered a good band.”
5. Casting Shade (The Art of Balance, 2002)
“Track 4 is a cool little almost classical like interlude called Casting Shade and it is kinda interesting cause the album which already rocks really kicks it up a notch from here on.”
4. Redemption (Threads Of Life, 2007)
“This song is legendary in my opinion. When I listen it I listen again every time. This song isn’t just screaming in case of other metalcore songs. It’s Just Beautiful”

3. Deadworld (Deadworld, 2001)
“Early Shadows Fall is far and away the best stuff. They rereleased this song but the original EP version is better. Along with First Noble Truth, this is one of the best recordings they’ve done.”
2. Fire From the Sky (Fire From the Sky, 2012)
“This is very reminiscent of their work on War Within, with a ton of attitude, fast and catchy riffs, nice gang background vocals, and great melodies. There isn’t anything surprising on this album, just more of the same great sound you have come to expect from these guys.”
1. The Light that Blinds (The War Within, 2004)
“The first song off of the War Within album and the first song you should ever check out from Shadows Fall. I love how the song opens with that beautiful acoustic peice then out of nowhere comes this crazy solo. Definitely their best song ever.”
