Sia Albums Ranked
Sia Kate Isobelle Furler (/ˈsiːə/ SEE-ə; born 18 December 1975) is an Australian singer, songwriter, voice actress, and director. She started her career as a singer in the acid jazz band Crisp in the mid-1990s in Adelaide. In 1997, when Crisp disbanded, she released her debut studio album, titled OnlySee, in Australia. She moved to London, England, and provided vocals for the British duo Zero 7. Sia released her second studio album, Healing Is Difficult, in 2000, and her third studio album, Colour the Small One, in 2004. In 2014, Sia broke through as a solo recording artist when her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear, debuted at No 1 in the U.S. Billboard 200 and generated the top-ten single “Chandelier” and a trilogy of music videos co-directed by Sia and starring child dancer Maddie Ziegler. Since then, Sia has usually worn a wig that obscures her face to protect her privacy. Her seventh studio album, This Is Acting (2016), spawned her first Billboard Hot 100 number one single, “Cheap Thrills”. The same year, Sia gave her Nostalgic for the Present Tour, which incorporated dancing by Ziegler and others and other performance art elements. Her eighth studio album, Everyday Is Christmas, was released in 2017 and reissued in 2018 with three bonus tracks. In 2018, she collaborated with Labrinth and Diplo in the group LSD, and they released their self-titled debut album in April 2019. Here are all of Sia albums ranked.

6. Everyday Is Christmas (2017)
“Christmas music is a fairly defined genre with MANY repeats, covers, and clichés, but Sia manages to pull of an album for the entire season with non-religious themes that many can relate to. Her voice truly shines through the album, highlighting the joy and romance in her tone, without sounding overly edited. Everyone in my house from the teenagers to my senior mother absolutely adored this CD and had no issues with it being played on repeat for all of Christmas day. Indeed this album is so good that it’ll make you feel like “everyday is Christmas”
5. Colour The Small One (2004)
“”Colour the Small One” has a simple, near-acoustic rock style which, along with Sia’s vocals, are reminiscent of Dido’s “Life for Rent” and include many jazz and blues overtones. Guitar, brass instruments, synth organ, and even the xylophone are tastefully blended with both fast and slow percussion in amounts that are often quite complex, yet carefully avoid the “noise rock” effect.”
4. Some People Have Real Problems (2008)
“The best Sia album, in my opinion, and that’s saying a lot! It fits many moods. I enjoy listening to it while reading because I get a very calm feeling. She had my attention the entire time, from the opening “Little Black Sandles” to the ending of the hidden track “Buttons.” Tracks that stick out to me are “Death by Chocolate,” which transforms into an amazing ballad, and the aforementioned “Little Black Sandals,” a powerful song for such a simple, unique title.”

3. This Is Acting (2016)
“Sia made me a fan of her music when I first listened to Chandelier on the radio and Elastic Heart among other tracks from her 1000 Forms of Fear album. This is Acting takes it to a whole new level. Her voice alone is hypnotic and the songs on the album are more about substance and convey deep messages. She stands out in my eyes as an artist that did not resort to use sex or obscene language to sell her music. Only her tremendous voice, lyrics, and incredible material. The beauty of This Is Acting is the range of sound and tone that she achieves throughout the whole album with deep melodies, slow songs, fast and upbeat songs that are just great to listen to all around.”
2. We Are Born (2010)
“The tenor, tone, coloring, passion and underlying angst are riveting and evoke feelings of sensitivity and empathy for the lyricist. This young woman performs in disguise or in deliberately unconventional formats, because her intention is to showcase only her Artistic Creativity; not her face, her figure nor her celebrity. Rachel & Greg Kurstin’s Musical Project Production is sophisticated, clearly recorded and full.”
1. 1000 Forms Of Fear (2014)
“I enjoyed this album. Sia has a way of crafting a song that adds a dimension to simple pop material. The mounting tension in “Chandelier” is a prime example. Perhaps it was the saturation of the video in 2014 – it seemed to be playing wherever I looked, but this song left an indelible impression on my brain. The rest of the album nearly rises to those highs again and again.”
