10. Hey You, I Love Your Soul (1998)

“Skillet just cannot do wrong! Love the deepness of this album! This album has me telling EVERYONE that “I love your soul. I like their music. It’s obvious they love God. If you want something with a poignant message — listen to scarecrow”

9. Invincible (2000)

“This has to be Skillet’s best album! Wish they still had this style. Im not much into their newer stuff. This album has emotion and seems to have more of a christian message. You don’t have to be christian to like this though. This album is amazing. Every song sounds different and is really catchy.”

8. Skillet (1996)

“The music has more grunge in it than any of their subsequent work. I Can, Beautiful Robe, Paint, and Promise Blender are tight, edgy guitar tunes, split up by a handful of more upbeat songs. The radio-friendly acoustic single Saturn (included ad infinitum on contemporary compilation albums) and the original worship song Safe With You provide counterpoint to their unpolished rock edge. The penultimate song, Boundaries, opens with a distinctly un-Skillet guitar hook that sounds like it was ripped from a Lenny Kravitz CD before John’s rasp takes us to the song’s anthemic chorus. Splinter closes the album on a peppy note.”

7. Victorious (2019)

“I personally find, “Victorious” to be a better album than Comatose. I like the variety and energy, and none of the songs on here I would skip over. I may be in the mood for certain songs at certain times, but I feel there is no filler on here. This of course is my opinion.”

6. Alien Youth (2001)

“The lyrics definitely proclaim the awesome majesty of Christ. Although I read a few gripes about having hard and soft music on one cd, I really like the mix this cd provides. I love worship songs, but also found that the lyrics to the harder songs were easy to hear and understand. The vocals are beautiful and the instruments are exceptional. I don’t understand why this band has never been on one of the WOW compilation cd’s. Skillet definitely has music that is better than many of the contemporary artists. “

5. Unleashed (2016)

“Unleashed” has a continuous driving theme that continues throughout the album and it rarely lets up. It’s almost like Christian/Positive music with an attitude, which is something that I can relate to and get into. It does let you breath a couple times with songs like “Stars”, “Lions” & “Watching for Comets”, but even those are well received ballads that prompt you to sing along with their melodies.”

4. Collide (2003)

“As for Collide I enjoyed 8 out of 11 songs which is great for a first CD by a band those songs were Savior, A little more, My Obsession, Collide, Imperfection, Under my Skin, Energy, and Cycle Down. Didn’t care for Forsaken, Open Wounds, and Fingernails because for me just too heavy for my taste in music. In closing though I love good rock music and enjoy the positive message on multiple songs of theirs include Cycle Down, Collide, and Under my Skin, if your into great rock music with positive messages then pick this CD up and see for yourself that they are still a great band and in my view always shall be.”

3. Rise (2013)

“Musically, “Rise” is aggressive and loud. John Cooper is simply one of the most intense rock performers still active who is also out on the road for the majority of the year. You can hear his passion and skill honed by countless performances in the past 20 plus years he’s been professionally creating music.”

2. Awake (2009)

“Awake is the first Skillet album with current drummer and female vocalist, Jen Ledger, who honestly made the band really awesome due to her solid drum work and pleasant voice which perfectly complements John Cooper’s gritty vocal work. This album takes the Comatose sound of symphonic hard rock and blends it with a more radio friendly, fun approach that makes for an enjoyable ride.”

1. Comatose (2006)

“Comatose is far and away from the best album I own. Even after a year it still manages to find its way into my CD player on a regular basis. The depth of the sound, the emotion of the lyrics, everything comes together perfectly to form one truly amazing sound. This four-person band (John Cooper with Bass and lead vocals, his wife Korey Cooper of keys and supporting guitar, Ben Kasica on lead guitar, and Lori Peters on drums) packs more sound into their music than many five-man bands.”
