2. Stereotype

“STAYC once again proving there is room for originality in k-pop, and that yes girl crush might be dominating k-pop rn, but we want something new and they have it! “STEREOTYPE” is probably my fav STAYC title, it has a similar vibe as “ASAP” but in a sweeter way? All these teasers looked so great and really got me excited for this, despite not following them closely. For the theme of the song, they went for the “I’m a different girl and I’m sorry for being pretty and confident, etc” thing and it doesn’t feel forced or cringe at all, it’s the opposite, it feels natural and is really fun, and it works well with the instrumental and MV.”

1. Young-Luv.com

“A solid album all around! STAYC has been a cut above the rest recently, and this mini-album, YOUNG-LUV.COM, is further proof. The record stays relatively consistent in its sonority, stretching the typical terrain of synth-heavy electropop into the area of future nostalgia, manifested uniquely in each song. During adolescence, the stakes feel unreasonably high for nearly everything; love, complicated even to adults, appears absolutely monumental in the throes of youth. This mini attempts to bring some understanding to something so complex and ubiquitous at once, encapsulating the highs and lows love necessitates both lyrically and aurally with precision.”
