STAYC (Korean: 스테이씨, acronym for Star to a Young Culture) is a South Korean girl group formed by High Up Entertainment. The group is composed of six members: Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J. They debuted on November 12, 2020, with the release of their debut single album Star to a Young Culture. The group’s name, STAYC, is an acronym for “Star to a Young Culture”, and is meant to “reflect the act’s aim of dominating pop culture”. Sieun was well-known prior to debut as both the daughter of veteran singer Park Nam-jung, and for her roles in dramas such as The Good Wife, Queen for Seven Days, and The Crowned Clown. She won the Youth Acting Award in 2018 SBS Drama Awards for her role in Still 17. Here are all of STAYC songs ranked.

5. RUN2U (Young-Luv.com, 2022)
“Young Luv” sounds like a song like it could’ve been written as a potential title track and I wonder if STAYC may do some follow-up promotions with the track. I think it’s so so strong. I love the blending of retro, classic BEP sound with emo/indie rock instrumentals. The vocal performances are maybe the best on the release.”

” I really appreciated the improved use of the girls’ vocals with this comeback, Isa being the most obvious case. This may be taste like you mentioned, but that final chorus where it slows down and Isa just sings smooth butter is stuck hardcore in my head.”

“I really love the girls’ vocal tones, which is more than enough reason to give their b-side material a shot. Their voices are distinct from one another and interesting. I love the lazy summer vibe of this, too. Sounds like a song you’d hear played on a boombox at the beach.”

“STAYC usually sing live. I assume the tempo has to match their singing capacities while dancing. Plus, it’s a song full of irony about a girl who keeps saying she can wait for the good one in love yet she can’t actually. The tempo matchs her feelings perfectly imo.”

“This kind of driving beat has been lacking in a lot of songs really, so it’s nice to have one. I keep listening to it because of that beat and the song is just produced well enough that I find myself clicking repeat more times than I realize. That’s good for a debut.”
