Strange Pink preview new EP with expansive single ‘Sculcoates’

UK alternative outfit Strange Pink have shared ‘Sculcoates’, the latest preview of their forthcoming EP Guest Room, offering another glimpse into the band’s blend of grunge, dream-pop and shoegaze-inspired textures.

Led by former Nine Black Alps frontman Sam Forrest, the track combines spoken-word passages, layered guitars and sweeping atmospheres to paint a portrait of contemporary urban life. Inspired by the Hull district where the band rehearse, ‘Sculcoates’ reflects on themes of disconnection, social change and the increasingly blurred identity of modern cities, while deliberately widening its focus beyond a single location.

The EP also showcases the contributions of drummer Dom Smith, whose performances bring a distinctive dynamic to the band, alongside bassist Eddie Logie, completing a line-up that balances weighty instrumentation with thoughtful songwriting.
