Sunbleached confront unhealthy attachment on ‘Maybe I’ll Come Around’

Australian alternative rock outfit Sunbleached turn their attention towards the frustrating contradictions of one-sided relationships on their latest single, ‘Maybe I’ll Come Around’.

The track explores that uncomfortable space between knowing a relationship is going nowhere and still being unable to completely walk away. Vocalist Josh Baker describes a cycle fuelled by small moments of affection, where occasional attention becomes enough to keep hope alive despite recognising the situation for what it really is.

Formed in 2020, the Brisbane five-piece comprises Baker alongside Bradley Maddaford, Kaden Perkinson, Brent Ottley and Izaac Calrow. Having emerged from earlier musical projects, the band have spent the subsequent years developing a style that takes inspiration from alternative rock’s past without simply recreating it.

With ‘Maybe I’ll Come Around’, Sunbleached continue that progression, transforming a painfully familiar pattern of attraction, disappointment and self-deception into another compelling addition to their growing catalogue.
