Testify Songs Ranked
Testify is the seventh solo studio album by English musician Phil Collins. Released in 2002, the album debuted at No. 30 on the American Billboard 200 albums chart, which was also the album’s peak position. It was also the second Phil Collins studio album where no track peaked within the American top 40 singles chart. It was also his lowest charting album in the UK, becoming his only solo effort not to reach the Top 5. However, the album achieved success in some countries of Continental Europe. It is his second album not to be co-produced by Hugh Padgham, who co-produced Collins’ most successful albums. Despite the shortage of success the album achieved, his subsequent First Final Farewell Tour proved to be very popular.. The album was reissued as a deluxe edition on CD, vinyl and digital on 15 April 2016, including a new second disc with bonus tracks. Here are all of Testify songs ranked.

10. Don’t Get Me Started
“My favourite song on the CD. It’s a list about how he feels about most of the things in the world today. I think I like it the most because I have been known to rant and rave about anything under the sun.”
9. Testify
“One of my favourite songs by Phil Collins. True, the lyrics may be simple, but isn’t that what Phil writes? I love the fact that it starts out soft and then turns out to be a nice rocker at the conclusion.”
8. It’s Not Too Late
“Probably my least favourite song on the CD. It is about the fact that it is never too late to change. It has some nice parts and some not so nice parts. Oddly enough, I used a quote from the song as a reflection of myself.”

7. Through My Eyes
“This song gave me an impression of ‘Both Sides of the Story’. Both of those songs deal with perspective and how you see things. The Chorus is very nice, and the lyrics are deep and philosiphical.”
6. Swing Low
“Ah, the song that grew on me most. It is a haunting and powerful song with catchy lyrics. Apparently, it was written late in Orianne’s pregnancy with Nicholas, and it seemed that the closer they (Phil and Orianne) got, the longer it would take.”
5. You Touch My Heart
“Is there a better song to finish a magnificent album with? I don’t think so. It is a lullaby to his son Nicholas. He came up with the music to this song on a walk with Nick and he had to keep humming it until he got home. It is probably the softest and most direct song Phil has ever written.”

4. The Least You Can Do
“My Mom’s favourite song. The Least you can do just sounds like classic Phil once more, well it does have Daryl Steurmer playing guitars (he did for the 5 other albums with guitars, yet he was absent for the most part). It is about that man finally realizing what is happening and his heart is broken. He says that the least she can do is say that she’s sorry and give him back his heart.
3. Come With Me
“A very beautiful and gentle ballad written for his daughter Lily around 1990, but taken out of the vaults for his son Nicholas. I loved it the moment I first heard it on Casey Kasem’s American Top 20.”
2. Can’t Stop Loving You
“The first single, a very catchy song, but sadly it isn’t Phil’s song. It was written for Leo Sayer in 1978, but it was a boring country song. Phil turns it into a rocker here. It sounds a bit like ‘You’ll be in my heart’ at the end. The drums are extremely powerful here, but what do we expect from the master of drums?”
1. Wake Up Call
“To me, the best song on the album. A shame it’s mostly downhill from there. There is a neat, rebellious “activist” spirit here. One of the few songs where he’s not talking about his love or his family, and that’s what makes it the best song. Even in all of Phil’s good non-Genesis sounding stuff, I have always loved his Genesis work the most, and this song sounds like it would easily fit on a new Phil, Tony, and Mike effort. Now, that I’d buy. The keyboards sound like Tony Banks, Phil’s voice is in fine form.”
