4. Early in the Morning
“If your only experience with this soundtrack is the old one, you owe it to yourself to pick up this remaster. Love this film and Busey’s take on the music. Includes so much more from the film missing from the original score.”
3. Heartbeat
“Gary Busey gives an astonishing performance in “The Buddy Holly Story.” He is nothing short of electrifying, especially since all of the music was performed live and the actors were not lip-syncing to a pre-recorded track, as most movies do it.”
2. It Doesn’t Matter Anymore
“An excellent versions and arrangements sung very well by Gary Busey the cabzoni are among the best of the great Buddy Holly and I’m the soundtrack of the movie “The Buddy Hollly Story” played by Gary Busey himself in a great rehearsal, I really liked it”
1. Raining in My Heart
“I would have been concerned, had Buddy lived, that the lush strings, pizzicatos and general mellowness signalled that we were about to lose one of the greats of Rock ‘n’ Roll. It seems a bit churlish to make that criticism granted what we all know happened so soon after – we lost him anyway. I think we can be sure he made the record he wanted to make, and that’s just fine, ‘cos it’s a fabulous record”
