The Ovines kick open a new era with ‘Waiting Room’
South-East London four-piece The Ovines launch themselves towards their debut album with ‘Waiting Room’, a riotous new single packed with breakneck riffs, ska-punk energy and brilliantly British character.
The track is the first taste of London Reign, arriving October 9 via Roulette Records. Recorded with producer Jason Stafford at The Libertines’ Albion Rooms in Margate, ‘Waiting Room’ captures the band at their most explosive.
Frenetic guitars and relentless drums race beneath frontman Matt’s sharp delivery before broad, anthemic choruses push everything towards heavier rock territory. Then comes the curveball: a spoken-word interlude about that most sacred of British rituals, making a cuppa, before the distortion comes crashing back in.
Having previously supported Buzzcocks, The Libertines and The Subways, The Ovines sound ready for their own moment. Fast, funny and gloriously unruly, ‘Waiting Room’ kicks the door wide open for London Reign.
