2. How Do You Love? (2019)
“Here we have more proof that The Regrettes have an amazing set of influences (here I hear The Cars, Weezer, a touch of The Replacements even). “HDYL?” is more stylistically various (and less aggressive overall) than their debut, “Feel Your Feelings, Fool,” and that’s just fine. I’d recommend this band and this record to anyone who appreciates guitar-based, melodic pop/rock in the same breath as I would Cheap Trick.”
1. Feel Your Feelings Fool! (2017)
“Debut album from Los Angeles band who play punky girl-group pop with a message that mixes feminist politics with teenage hormones & fun. The ghost of Phil Spector is absorbed by the energy of Savages and Sleater-Kinney, then re-fitted to the saucy retro-kick of Bleached and Shannon & The Clams. “Feel Your Feelings Fool!” rocks the melody with purpose and pizzazz. It’s a non-stop blast of wild, intelligent fun!”
