Tiger Bear Wolf revive a lost chapter with new offering ‘Single Heart’
Greensboro, North Carolina outfit Tiger Bear Wolf return with ‘Single Heart’, a deeply personal single taken from their long-awaited self-titled album, arriving on July 17 via Ernest Jenning Record Co. More than two decades after the band first formed, the track stands as both a tribute to friendship and a testament to perseverance.
Originally written while the band lived and created in Greensboro’s legendary Corndale House, ‘Single Heart’ carries the spirit of a close-knit artistic community that helped shape the group’s identity. At its emotional core is the memory of friend and fellow musician Tim LaFollette, whose unwavering encouragement left a lasting mark on everyone around him. Following his passing after a battle with ALS, the song has become a lasting dedication to his generosity, warmth and enduring influence.
The single also reflects the remarkable journey behind Tiger Bear Wolf’s forthcoming album. Initially recorded in 2009, the project was thought to have disappeared forever after years of lost files and damaged hard drives. Against overwhelming odds, the recordings were eventually recovered, allowing the band to spend the following years completing an album that bridges the musicians they were with the artists they have since become.
Blending southern rock, post-punk, psychedelia and hardcore into a powerful, textured sound, ‘Single Heart’ captures Tiger Bear Wolf at their most heartfelt, while celebrating the friendships and shared history that made this extraordinary record possible.
