Zayn Songs Ranked

Zain Javadd Malik (born 12 January 1993), known mononymously as Zayn, is an English singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Bradford, Malik auditioned as a solo contestant for the British music competition The X Factor in 2010. After being eliminated as a solo performer, Malik was brought back into the competition, along with four other contestants, to form the boy band One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Malik left the group in March 2015 and subsequently signed a solo recording contract with RCA Records. Adopting a more alternative R&B music style with his debut studio album, Mind of Mine (2016), and its lead single, “Pillowtalk”, Malik became the first British male artist to debut at number one in both the UK and US, with his debut single and debut album. His collaborative singles, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” with Taylor Swift and “Dusk Till Dawn” featuring Sia, were met with international success. Malik released his second studio album, Icarus Falls, in 2018. His third album, Nobody Is Listening, was released in January 2021. Malik is the recipient of several accolades, including an American Music Award and an MTV Video Music Award. He is also the only artist to have won the Billboard Music Award for New Artist of the Year twice, receiving it once as a member of One Direction in 2013 and then again in 2017 as a solo artist. Here are all of Zayn’s songs ranked.

15. She (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“This is one of THE MOST underrated songs out there. Everything about this song is literal perfection from start to finish. It’s been years and I still listen to this everyday”

14. Borderz (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“Zayn has more than proven that he is an excellent vocalist during his time with One Direction. As a solo artist, he has proven that he is an excellent writer. Enjoyed all of the songs.”

13. Blue (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“I really did not expect this! What a terrific album. Cool, sophisticated sensual hypnotic. 18 tracks and every one is first rate. This could not be further from his pop work with 1D. A real triumph for the shy introverted pretty teenager who has blossomed into a style icon and accomplished true artist. LOVE IT!”

Zayn Malik Is Still Figuring Himself Out on Mind of Mine

12. Befour (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“This has become one of my all time favorite albums. I can’t get enough of Zayn’s voice and I’m still in awe of the breadth of talent displayed. I was never a fan of One Direction, sure they had good songs and I would like to here them on the radio, but they were for kids. This is a very adult production and it’s beautiful.”

11. It’s You (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“Wow didn’t expect music is exceptionally beautiful. Zayn’s voice is powerful, didn’t know what he sounded like alone. Very well put together the Music with his voice. Don’t expect a boy band singer. After I heard the intro wow”

10. Let Me (Icarus Falls, 2018)

“Every track on Icarus Falls is smooth. He transcends genre’s easily, flowing from pop to r&b to dance to even a poppy-western tinged BOP. The man can do anything, and make it all sound natural and effortless. I especially love the small nods to his heritage and traditional south asian music that make appearances in his vocals throughout the album.”

9. Truth (Mind Of Mine 2016)

“This album demonstrates ZAYN’s beautiful songwriting skills and shows off his vocal range. I love this album you can dream with it, cry with it, feel powerful or dance with it”

8. Like I Would (Mind Of Mine 2016)

“Just listen to the beginning. So unique. He hits his climax at the middle, and finishes strong. A masterpiece. He’s singing 3 octaves the whole song as well as incorporating that smokey texture of his voice into the song.”

7. Wrong (Mind Of Mine 2016)

“The words hardly mean something. But the way he sings with such feeling and desperation… You feel as if he’s telling the story of your life! This song is not just tune and rhymes, its art, and a masterpiece at that.”

6. I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, 2017)

“Not a bad song by any means, it seems to lack the edge that it’s associated film “Fifty Shades Darker” has in its presentation. Zayn is decent here, but Taylor Swift really stands out here. “IDWLF” is a ver different sound for her to be involved in. Both her vocals and her verse in the song are much stronger and more interesting than what Zayn has to offer. A good piece or work, but in no way a watermark in the careers of anyone involved in it.”

5. Rear View (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“This is one talented guy. The best thing he could have done was leave One Direction in my opinion. The one direction they were going was downward, and now Zayn is on the rise all by himself.”

4. Drunk (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“Zayn Malik has become an incredibly talented icon as a solo artist. His work is near flawless. Production on this album is magical especially with much of the work done by Grammy award winning Malay Ho. Beautiful album, easily became one of my favorites.”

3. Lucozade (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“This album exceeded all of my expectations. It is well and thoroughly put together and each song flows into another seamlessly. Zayns’ vocals are impeccable, as always, and there isn’t a song on the feels out of place. Whether you like vocal ballads, synth-pop beats, or smooth neo R&B, there is a little bit of something for everyone on here. “

2. Pillowtalk (Mind Of Mine, 2016)

“I was not expecting a whole lot from this album when I heard that Zayn had left One Direction. I knew he could get charted due to the fact that he was in One Direction, but I was not expecting him to make an album I would appreciate more than just one listen. I figured it would just be an average release that is typical from artists after leaving a group making one or two albums that are decent, but unmemorable. But this is much better than I thought it would end up being.”

1. Dusk Till Dawn (Dusk Till Dawn, 2017)

“He is the vocal legend of this century. He got that pitch many solo artists can’t reach.. All those notes are remarkable and undoubtedly anyone could possibly make. As he is really talented & experimental he can sing any genre I suppose..”
