4Minute Songs Ranked

4Minute (Korean: 포미닛, often stylized as 4MINUTE) was a South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment. The members of the group were Nam Ji-hyun, Heo Ga-yoon, Jeon Ji-yoon, Kim Hyuna and Kwon So-hyun. The group was known for its edgy dance-pop style and “girl crush” image that attracted a large female fan base. The group received several major awards, including the Rookie Award at the 2009 Golden Disc Awards, the K-pop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards, and the Bonsang Award at 2011, 2012, and 2014 Seoul Music Awards. 4Minute disbanded in June 2016 after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations between Cube Entertainment and the majority of the group members. 10. Freestyle (Festival Manufacturing Love, 2012)

“Freestyle is a great song, sounds like a electronic game! I like this kind of music. But I still think “You Know” would fit so much better in this video, or at least in this kind of video! I think it’s because i thought this video was from You Know so”

9. What A Girl Wants (For Muzik For Asia, 2010)

“I remember this as the national anthem of my friends back when it released. My Brother has this song on his nokia express music back then. Hahaha. Such a special song and this group is a legend. One of the biggest group who get the cube where they are now.”

8. Thank You (4Minute World, 2014)

“It really is 4minute’s world. They were great on the stage, I expected it to be just “another average to good concert”, but it was an amazing experience, way better than I thought it would be. Maybe it’s because they’re not in my “top 10” list (so far) and I just enjoyed their songs (I liked Hyuna’s stuff a bit more), and when I saw their lives on music shows it wasn’t something that made me go “wow”, but the real product, them, live, and dancing, it was GREAT”

7. Muzik (For Muzik For Asia, 2010)

“Muzik was definitely one of my favorites from 4minute, whenever I partied back then I would blast it, I still do though. Not gonna lie, this song makes me falling love to 4minute.”

6. Is It Poppin’? (Is It Poppin’?, 2013)

“This song is my favorite of 4 minute because it is so slow and romantic. Here all look so pretty, especially Gayoon very beautiful my bias. They divided parts perfectly and it made me so happy that Jihyun finally had more than one line! If they had done the same marketing they did for What’s your name then it could have been more popular.”

5. Hate (Act. 7, 2016)

“Looking back at what was popular when this was released shows that 4Minute was ahead of their time and definitely influenced the insurgence of darker concepts in girl groups late 3rd gen and 4th gen. Everyone still appreciates a good cute/happy/girlfriend concept, but I think the public has really grown to appreciate a good cool/dark/badass concept in girl groups as well.”

4. Hot Issue (For Muzik For Asia, 2010)

“This was the first video of a K-pop girl group that I viewed and what launched me deep into K-pop music. They are still one of my favorite K-pop girl groups though I am also really into T-ara, Blackpink, Girl’s Generation and Itzy.”

3. Volume Up (Volume Up, 2012)

“This will always be the most fancy, classy and expensive mv for me. I really fell in love with Jiyoon’s voice here, I miss here she’s my ultimate all rounder.”

2. Whatcha Doin’ Today (4Minute World, 2014)

“This song is so Iconic because this song won over Come Back Home and Mr. Mr. The fact that 4 Minute wasn’t expecting to won that time. That was one of the iconic moment happened in kpop history.”

1. Crazy (Crazy, 2015)

“I just love how the older generation of kpop groups gives their music with beats you can really dance with even if you don’t know the choreo. This song isn’t vocal heavy or even very choreography based. This song is legendary because 4minute’s aura and power on stage was unmatched. All of them ate this song and left no crumbs.”
