Bad Animals Songs Ranked

Bad Animals is the ninth studio album by American rock band Heart, released on June 6, 1987, by Capitol Records. The album continues the mainstream hard rock style from the band’s 1985 self-titled release, all while enjoying similar success. It peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 in August 1987, and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on June 4, 1992. Internationally, Bad Animals charted within the top five in Canada, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. The album spawned the US number-one single “Alone”, while “Who Will You Run To” reached number seven, “There’s the Girl” reached number 12, and “I Want You So Bad” reached number 49. 10. Who Will You Run To

“Who Will You Run To” represented the best of the 1980s to me. Being a younger adult at the time, WWYRT also represented a high-powered, energized, exuberant & happy state of mind and style of carrying oneself.”

9. There’s the Girl

“Heart ruled female rock in 1987 yet they didn’t get the media mention they deserved for their music & stage shows. Instead the media focused on untalented women churning out dance & pop-soul music.”

8. Wait for an Answer

“This album comes from one of my favorite rock bands of all time, Heart. Ann Wilson has a voice that was and is a measuring stick for female vocalists everywhere. I would compare this band to Vixen or maybe a female version of a good 80’s metal band.”

7. You Ain’t So Tough

“Heart are the kind of stadium-filler band which many bands can only aspire to. Bad Animals continues on the run of global success which the Heart album instigated and contains enough radio-friendly hits to keep a general record buyer and the committed fan alike happy.”

6. Easy Target

“This is an excellent album. This is hard rock with excellent sound quality and production. Ron Nevison should have won a grammy for producer of the year for this. Ann and Nancy, Mark Andes, Howard Leese, and Denny Carmassi are all at their best on this album.”

5. R.S.V.P.

“The song finally ends with ‘RSVP’, also a great song which leaves the listener guessing whether they got back together since ‘Who Will you run to?’ or if it’s a new love all together. This album is one of my very favorites when I’m depressed or ‘Alone’.”

4. Strangers of the Heart

“Ann’s voice is so full of desperation, that anyone who’s ever had a broken heart will fall into the trance that this song creates. I always considered this album to be a ‘concept’ album because of the feel of it and the way the songs go in a particular order. “

3. Bad Animals

“Ann Wilson was at her best musically and professionally with Bad Animals. At her 1987 stage show she carried herself as someone who had accomplished great things and she sounded the best ever, but she didn’t break down into frenzied dances like she did at the 1985 show. “

2. I Want You So Bad

“One of the greatest rock bands of all-time shines in this late 80’s release. Can they ever put out a bad album? I don’t think so. My main objective in this review is to let everyone know about a gem: I WANT YOU SO BAD. Heart has tons of great tunethe s, but this one is my favorite. Too bad the single flopped in the USA. Not too many people know it was actually released as a single.”

1. Alone

“The first single from the album. Here is Heart’s second, but final, #1 hit single (Billboard Hot 100). This #1 hit was not sung by Nancy this time, but it was sung by Ann. Weird at how both sisters have two songs, where they both sing lead on each, and both of those songs went straight to the #1 spot (“These Dreams” for Nancy Wilson, and “Alone” for Ann Wilson). Great ballad.”
