20. No Manās Land (Against the Wind, 1980)
āGreat to see No Manās Land on this list. Iām not saying itās top ten because thereās so many great Seger songs to choose from, but itās my favorite song off Against the Wind, and the songās message is so true.ā
19. Her Strut (Against the Wind, 1980)
āClassic Seger! There isnāt a bad Seger song is there? Heard a lot of karaoke singers, but no one has ever been able to capture that Seger voiceā
18. The Fire Inside (The Fire Inside, 1991)
āLyrics and emotion in his voice are almost unparalleled. Haunting real and so intense, just let this song burn you up, we all need this reminder. The lyrics give me chills. Incredibly vivid and masterful songwriting.ā
17. Fire Lake (Against the Wind, 1980)
āSomething about this song will always be in my heart. It is my favourite Seger song, and from the lyrics to the subtle instruments, it could be one of my top 10 songs ever.ā

16. Famous Final Scene (Stranger in Town, 1978)
āThis song is literally my favourite all time song and I aināt bragging. Itās so soothing and spiritually uplifting. Just listen to this song and see the lyrics, and tell me if you donāt fall in love with this song.ā
15. Shakedown (Beverly Hills Cop II, 1987)
āHey, everybody, itās just what nobody was hoping for ā drum-machined-and-synth-horned Bob Seger! The song ends up being much better than it has any right to be, with Bob and the backing vocalists giving the song a good measure of grit and soul.Ā ā
14. Roll Me Away (The Distance, 1982)
āSuch a hard choice between so many awesome songs, it could easily be -turn the page-like a rock- against the wind-youāll accompāny me- or many others. For me I like the freedom of āroll me awayā
13. Youāll Accompāny Me (Against the Wind, 1980)
āIām intrigued by songs with lyrics like this one has. On the surface, itās ostensibly romantic ā dealing with the inevitability of love to eventually bring two people together. But, of course, we live in the real world. Where people are people, and Cupidās arrows donāt necessarily go where want them to. Love isnāt will-to-power ā you canāt somehow MAKE somebody love you no matter how many stars you wish on.ā
12. Trying to Live My Life Without You (Nine Tonight, 1981)
āI love Bob Seger. It probably gives away my age. But his songs never wear out to me and Trying To Live My Life Without You is one of his best.ā
11. Travelinā Man (Beautiful Loser, 1975)
āLive bullet version is my favorite song, took over turn the pageā¦like Led Zeppelins over the hills and far away is overcoming stairway to heaven. His best sang song, and opens up very well. Silver bullet band! Not taking anything away from bob. It was just great to see a guy put 15 good years in and find the rest of the pieces. He did just that!ā
10. Blue Monday (Road House, 1989)
āAlways will be a very definite favourite. Itās so happy and makes me smile. Itās featured on the Road House film (starring Patrick Swayze) soundtrack.ā
9. Like A Rock (Like A Rock, 2017)
āI can relate to every word in this song. It really put your life in order as to how fast it goes by. To me this is his biggest hit. How ever I love every song he has ever sangā
8. Still the Same (Stranger in Town, 1978)
āWay too many great Bob songs but this is my favorite. Not all stories have a happy ending and this song is indicative of that. This is why we have music. Such a beautiful song.ā
7. Hollywood Nights (Stranger in Town, 1978)
āThis is a great song, rampaging along on that galloping drum-beat, atmosphere built up by organ, cool-sounding female backing vocals and a throbbing bass-line. The story in the lyricās great too, a young man lost to the wiles of a seductress in the big bad city. It is a fantasy though, you never believe itās a real story, but itās so well told that youāll hang on every word.ā

6. Weāve Got Tonight (Stranger in Town, 1978)
āThe 70ās great times and expectations. Listening now brings back glimpses of the excitement of growing up, even after the thrill is gone.ā
5. Main Street (Night Moves, 1976)
āThis is the ultimate āwhat the fuck happened to my lifeā tune ā itās way more romantic, poignant and tragic than the average RYMer will ever let on. Thereās a reason why the regulars at your local pub react way too strongly to this song whenever itās played on the jukebox.ā
4. Against the Wind (Against the Wind, 1980)
āEach time I hear a song on the radio like Nicki Minajās or Justin Bieberās, I feel an urgent need to clean my ears out with some REAL music! This song is the epitome of REAL music, meaningful beautiful lyrics, amazing music with the guitar and piano, and a great voice.ā
3. Night Moves (Night Moves, 1976)
āI love this song. The only thing wrong is I canāt really play it acoustic because the girls singing background are such an important part of the song. Also, like most Seger songs, itās hard to sing. Just another testament to what a talent Bob Seger is.ā
2. Turn the Page (Back in ā72, 1973)
āNot only Metallica, also covered by Waylon Jennings. What that means is that hard rockers, mainstream rockers, and even country fans relate to this song. I play guitar at a few restaurants in the Minneapolis area, and this song goes over well with all ages.ā
1. Old Time Rock and Roll (Stranger in Town, 1978)
āThis particular song sticks with me for two reasons. First as a music classic, and second as an iconic tune that made a white shirt, white sock-clad teenager sliding across a hardwood floor in āRisky Businessā a household name.ā
