10. Out of Control

ā€œTed Nugentā€™s Cat Scratch Fever is my favorite album from him. A great classic rocker from start to finish. The famous title track is my least favorite song on here, but that one is still good with an awesome riff.ā€

9. Home Bound

ā€œNugentā€™s ā€œHome Boundā€ has a lot more energy and grittiness to it, though it forgoes the edge of the four songs preceding it n the album, which almost all relyā€“rightfully soā€“on hard-rocking riffs and Nugentā€™s dynamic, slashing guitar work.ā€

8. Fist Fightinā€™ Son of a Gun

ā€œOne of Ted Nugentā€™s more famous efforts, Cat Scratch Fever is a good, solid rock nā€™ roll album. And, if the entire album showed the strength of the first four tracks, it would be a masterpiece. Unfortunately, it suffers from a weak middle, before ā€œFist Fightinā€™ Son of a Gunā€ picks up the pace again near the end of the album.ā€

7. Live It Up

ā€œThings tend to fall away a bit from there though, no real stinkers but nothing particularly memorable for theĀ rightĀ reasons. ā€˜Live It Upā€™ is probable memorable for its Bo Diddley beat, which has been done a thousand times before and since.ā€

6. A Thousand Knives

ā€œA Thousand Knives,ā€ just a killer song thatā€™s filled with great melodic lead guitar! This song is my 2nd TOP favorite on this album. This is as excellentā€¦ as EXCELLENT can get. One hell of a Dynamite song.ā€

5. Death by Misadventure

ā€œIf I remember right, this song tells about Brian Jones drowning in the summer of 1969. He had been a member of the Rolling Stones, before he died. I like THIS song quite wellā€¦the guitar work is real good.ā€

4. Sweet Sally

ā€œSweet Sally,ā€ just another catchy riff laden song that Iā€™ll take to the grave. Tedā€™s singing is decent on this album and of course his guitar playing is smokin as usual

3. Wang Dang Sweet Poontang

ā€œRegardless of the cover, this was Tedā€™s most successful studio outing perhaps due to the success of the title track as a single. Itā€™s typically stupid but catchy and memorable. Sad to say the same thing about ā€˜Wang Dang Sweet Poontangā€™ but you wonder whether he was running out of things to write about when he penned that one. Yet, there are several similarly titled songs throughout his catalogue.ā€

2. Workinā€™ Hard, Playinā€™ Hard

ā€œThe meaning to this song is rather similar to ā€œLive It Upā€. This is another Happy Go Lucky song. I LOVE this tune very much & it TIES w/ ā€œLive It Upā€ as my TOP favorite song.ā€

1. Cat Scratch Fever

ā€œCat Scratch Fever is a fantastic album and along with his self-titled debut are Ted Nugentā€™s best solo albums. Although he was better known for his live shows, wicked guitar playing, and wildman image, Ted wrote some of the best hard rock songs of the late 70ā€™s and several of them are featured here.ā€
