In addition to her solo work, Charli XCX has co-written songs for other artists, including Iggy Azalea’s “Beg for It” (2014), Selena Gomez’s “Same Old Love” (2015), will.i.am’s “Boys & Girls” (2016), Blondie’s “Tonight” (2017), and the Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello collaboration “Señorita” (2019). 15. Red Balloon (Sucker, 2014)

“This bonus track from the UK edition of Sucker is well worth the buck to pick-up. Sucker on the whole was not as satisfying as True Romance, this upbeat track helps bridge the gap.”

14. Sucker (Sucker, 2014)

“I added this on my to listen list as someone who’s a fan of current Charli with her known hyper pop and pc music sound. I just wanted to get this album over with so I can say I finished her discography and kept hearing about how this is her worst album and that it’s not that good. I wasn’t really looking that forward to listening to it, but it somehow exceeded my expectations.”

13. You’re the One (True Romance, 2013)

“If the EP signifies anything, it is that anyone interested in the fringe of groovy, synth-heavy pop music should pay full attention to this rising British voice.”

12. Nuclear Seasons (True Romance, 2013)

“A true wonder of gothic dance-pop to delight lovers of Rimmel and dancefloor. Totally unstoppable, Charli XCX wins the cup with this hit rather appreciated by mustached hipsters … Which is not necessarily a guarantee of quality I agree, but I can only approve of its success.”

11. Need Ur Luv (Sucker, 2014)

“The songs are really fun and bubbly, I just don’t feel it’s as strong as her other work as a whole. Some definite highlights but nothing I’d hold among her best work. Still, it’s a solid release she can be proud of.”

10. Grins (True Romance 2013)

“I don’t know why but when i hear this song it just feels like a dream…i can’t get tired of hearing grins, it’s so sweet and the instrumentals are perfect, In every situation this song just fits in”

9. So Far Away (True Romance, 2013)

“Charli’s flow when she’s “rapping” is brilliant. One of my favorite parts about True Romance as a whole. My favorite song from her. I can’t explain how GREAT this song is!!! It’s ethereal and so unique.”

8. What I Like (True Romance, 2013)

“I miss her True Romance era. Don’t get me wrong Sucker’s great, but True Romance is just so raw and unique and lyrically brilliant.”

7. SuperLove (How To Be Single, 2016)

“Superlove was never something I compared to Charli’s other works until recently, and it makes total sense why. It’s sort of similar to the more pop songs on True Romance like You – Ha Ha Ha as well as most of Sucker, songs made really early in Charli’s career. And it’s very easy to just throw it away as “oh, she made good radio friendly pop music but then after Vroom Vroom she really found her sound and I should focus on those”, especially because Charli as an artist seems to only be moving forward, and she probably stopped thinking about this track the second it dropped.”

6. After the Afterparty (After the Afterparty, 2016)

“After the Afterparty” is very similar to We Can’t Stop, a mid-tempo pop anthem about partying. Charli brings her own unique spark to the concept, making a glossy, sparkling sing-along about never wanting the fun to end. “After the Afterparty” is more joyous than We Can’t Stop while being less stiff like Here’s To Never Growing Up. A truly enjoyable party anthem.”

5. Fancy (Fancy, 2014)

“This is a very good song. I do like it. The sound is good and perfect and it does not contain bad words and does not embrace sex. Except that the English is not good (instead of saying who dat, bad English or street English, the artist could have said who is that in proper English). I enjoy listen to it and recommend other people to buy it.”

4. You (Ha Ha Ha) (True Romance, 2013)

“The sample just slaps you in the face, and it’s perfect. It’s so trippy and euphoric, and Charli sings extremely well here. The sound is so saturated and hot. Great example of pop music.”

3. Break the Rules (Sucker, 2014)

“It’s a good song. If you take “punk” as “pop punk”, then yeah, this is as punk as it can get. You can definitely see Avril Lavigne’s influence on this song, even if we all like to pretend we never listened to her. The lyrics are kind of ridiculous, reaching parody levels (I don’t wanna go to school, I just wanna break the rules…. yeah, okay) for what pop punk is known for. The only thing she’s missing is complaining about “this town”.

2. Boom Clap (The Fault in Our Stars, 2014)

“This song is perfect in every way. The lyrics are amazing and her singing is just perfect. The song also matches the film TFIOS perfectly and the video… God, the video is just amazing. “

1. Explode (The Angry Birds Movie (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), 2016)

“I watched the Angry Birds Movie on Redbox for the first time, and I remember hearing this song play, and after I fell in love with this movie, that night, I listened to this song, and I loved it.”
