Clyde the Band continue their concept story with new single ‘high’
Los Angeles indie rock outfit Clyde the Band have released ‘high’, the latest preview of their upcoming concept album following the fictional character Clyde as he navigates life after heartbreak. The new single delivers a heavier, more intense sound, combining soaring guitars, pounding drums and infectious hooks with emotionally candid songwriting.
Picking up where previous release ‘S.O.L’ left off, the track explores the setbacks that often accompany personal growth, highlighting the struggle between confronting difficult emotions and escaping from them. Frontman Sean Temple says the song reflects someone recognising unhealthy coping mechanisms while still searching for a better path forward.
Produced alongside longtime collaborator Joey Macmahan and completed with mixing and mastering by Daniel Bermudez, the song also introduces experimental production flourishes that expand the band’s evolving sound.
