Ontario indie-rock trio da nang turn a brutal breakup into one enormous communal singalong on ‘IYKYK’, their brilliantly chaotic new anthem for anyone who’s ever wanted to shout about an ex.

Written after vocalist John was ghosted following a seven-year relationship, the track refuses to wallow. Instead, da nang unleash what they affectionately describe as a “sea shanty for the heartbroken”, crashing high-energy emo and indie-rock into rowdy gang vocals, humour and a healthy dose of petty rage.

Remarkably, the song came together during a single day at Picard Lake. While John was cooking cottage bolognese, bassist Calum wandered into the kitchen playing an acoustic riff. Lyrics quickly followed, and within hours the band were downstairs hammering through the finished idea.
