“This album is a must for all Coverdale fans and fans of really good prime time rock and roll. The album starts off with the cool instrumental INTO THE LIGHT by the dual guitar team of Earl Slick and Doug Bossi, who give a taste of good things to come.THE RIVER SONG is a back to basics good time rock track with a 2 very bluesy solos by with a bit of a funk to it.Coverdale’s voice as on the rest of this album sound the best it’s ever benn period.”

2. White Snake (1977)

“By no means is this David’s finest moment, but it has a concealed rawness and deep feeling buried beneath the sessions variety musicianship and relatively polished production quality that makes this collection above average.”

1. Northwinds (1978)

“Northwinds is just the most beautiful song coverdale ever wrote, his voice is pure and simply divine.Time and again, a powerful ballad for electric piano and vocals. The funky/soul Say you love me and Give me Kindness-a weird funny fanfaron track-add diversity to the album.Coverdale sings softly but remains very steady.”
