Desperate Man Songs Ranked
Desperate Man (stylized in all lowercase) is the sixth album by American country music singer Eric Church. It was released via EMI Nashville and Snakefarm Records on October 5, 2018. The album’s lead single is its title track. Church announced the album’s release on July 13, 2018, via a livestream to his fanclub, the Church Choir. The lead single, which is the title track, was shipped to radio a day prior to this announcement. The album consists of 11 songs, and Church revealed the tracklisting on a pre-order page on his website. As with all of his previous albums, it was produced by Jay Joyce. Church said that the album’s title came from the emotions he felt after the 2017 Las Vegas shooting; he told Rolling Stone that “I got a little bit desperate in there to just find an album, because it was not fucking happening.” Here are all of Desperate Man songs ranked

10. Desperate Man
Now on to the music, there are a few good tracks but this is nowhere near as great as Outsiders and Mr. Misunderstood. All in all still a good album, I’m sure it’ll grow on me in time.
9. Drowning Man
“Eric Church is as dependable as the sun, he always brings some good sound and lyrics in each album. Always a little different, but still him. This is a very good album.
8. Solid
“Several great tracks. The snake is really a favorite of mine. Heart like a wheel is really good. Church has a unique blend of southern country and blues.”

“Eric Church has a way with his lyrics and his voice that seem to calm him when he’s riled up or he’s struggling. This album is amazing”

5. Monsters
“That’s not saying there aren’t good tunes here – many have highlighted the more intimate and acoustic ‘Monsters’ as a high point and I agree, especially with the wiry bass plucks, and it’s hard to hear the even more stripped down ‘Hippie Radio’ as Eric “
4. Heart Like a Wheel
“This is my favorite recording album so far! Incredible song writing! Very thought provoking and emotional. It has been on repeat since it was delivered ! Don’t hesitate to buy, you will LOVE it!”
3. Hippie Radio
“‘Hippie Radio’ as Eric Church making his own version of a Lori McKenna song like ‘We Were Cool’ with a bit more organ. But on more than a few songs we get interesting guitar phrases and melodies to open up songs like ‘Heart Like A Wheel’ and ‘Solid’ before a pivot towards more conventional country soul of which I’ve heard done with more convincing firepower throughout the past three or four years – hell, even at points by Church himself!”
2. Some of It
“At times it feels like it has a concept, see the anti-political leanings of the opening and closing tracks, but songs like “Some of it” while good, don’t add anything to that theme. I’m not saying every album has to have a concept, but don’t hint at an interesting one with a few tracks and ignore it with the rest.”
1. Jukebox and a Bar
“Eclectic and infectious – something for everyone, with some twists and turns along the way. There’s no way you can listen to this and not catch yourself smiling from time to time. Good food for the soul.”
