Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich preview Dragonflies debut album with ‘Setting Sun’
Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich offer another fascinating glimpse into their new project Dragonflies with ‘Setting Sun’, the latest track taken from the duo’s imminent self-titled debut album.
Driven by a gently propulsive bassline, ‘Setting Sun’ gradually winds its way towards what Godrich describes as “angular pop music”, revealing another intriguing side to the pair’s collaborative sound. The release arrives alongside a visualiser created by Tarik Barri, with special thanks to Lea Fabrikant.
It follows last month’s album opener ‘Slower’, which was accompanied by a psychedelic hand-drawn video from Bristol animator and director RUFFMERCY.
Dragonflies arrives Friday through Dark Horse Records/BMG, with Harrison and Godrich marking its release with their first two live performances at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles. Their live band will include Joey Waronker, Nick Valensi and Maurice Talbot.
