DIRT return reinvigorated with heavy-hitting single ‘Sunder’

Helsinki five-piece DIRT kick off 2026 with ‘Sunder’, a punchy, groove-laden track that signals a powerful new phase for the band.

Marking their first release of the year, the single offers an early look at their forthcoming second album, a project shaped by both creative evolution and internal rebuilding. After stepping back from the spotlight, DIRT used the time to reset, reworking their dynamic and emerging with a renewed sense of direction.

‘Sunder’ captures that shift. Driven by a head-nodding rhythm rooted in 90s hardcore influences, the track tackles the emotional fallout of breaking away from a toxic relationship. It’s direct, cathartic, and built to hit hard live.

The band also expand their approach here, experimenting with co-writing for the first time alongside JC Halttunen, while production from Juho Salaterä brings a sharp, modern edge.
