Dude Ranch Songs Ranked

Dude Ranch is the second studio album by American rock band Blink-182, released on June 17, 1997, by Cargo Music and MCA Records, making it their major record label debut. MCA signed the band in 1996 following moderate sales of their 1995 debut Cheshire Cat and their growing popularity in Australia. Dude Ranch was the band’s final recording released on Cargo and the last to feature their full original lineup as drummer Scott Raynor was dismissed from the band in 1998. The album was released in the summer of 1997 and was a success, reaching number 67 on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Heatseekers chart. The second single, “Dammit”, became a rock radio hit single and helped the band gain mainstream credibility as they toured worldwide on the Vans Warped Tour. Here are all of Dude Ranch songs ranked.

10. A New Hope

“This is another one that a lot of people are down on. i have to admit, it’s a little strange with all the star wars references and everything, But the words in the chorus are really sweet. it’d be nice if they weren’t about Princess Leia.”

9. Emo

“This is hands down the best blink song ever written. The lyrics are perfect and very metaphorical. Perfect Guitar all around just perfect song. The most nostalgic blink song for me, that octave chromatic run on th the guitar before the break/bass solo, is amazing”

8. Pathetic

“Another great intro song from blink. Sounds awesome with the trade off of lines between Mark and Tom. One of the best on the CD. It has an awesome guitar riff in the verse and it’s easilly one of the best on the album and cool to open with.”

7. Enthused

“One of my favourite blink guitar riffs. The lyrics aren’t all that impressive, and this is probably my least favourite song, but it is still good. There are tons of good guitar parts in this one. it must have been really hard to play.”

6. Apple Shampoo

“Another AMAZING song. Mark’s favourite on the album (interesting fact) with really cool, sincere lyrics. Many people say this, but it IS a real punk song. (it was on a warped cd one year!) anywho, this song has good words and a lot of “redeeming qualities.” it always makes me laugh that mark says “mark” at the beginning of the song.”

5. Degenerate

“Alot of people I know don’t care for this song, but I really, REALLY dig it. It starts out kind of slow, then sort of explodes with the awesome chorus and then a really rad guitar riff. The fast chorus mixed with the slower verses really makes this song great to listen to.”

4. Voyeur

“Tom’s voice sounds really whiny at the beginning, but once the song gets going, it totally kicks ass. Tom and Mark’s rather rough voices suit the song well. This song so funny! It’s about Tom looking at a girl naked in her window. It’s very repetitive but still catchy so it’s cool.”

3. Dick Lips

“The BEST song on the album. When I heard this song, I just became addicted to it. Crazyily awesome song about when Tom got kicked out of high school for drinking. A song alot of teenagers can relate too in some way”

2. Josie

“Another CRAZY song (like I said this album never slows down). A really fast song that makes you want to jump around or run or something. Just really energetic, one of the best on the CD”

1. Dammit

“An amazing song. The video is hilarious. Probably the only time I’ve seen Tom with all 3 of his piercings. Every guitar player should know the intro to this song, because how can a guitar player not know such a infamous song.”
