John David Anderson (born December 13, 1954) is an American country music singer and songwriter with a successful career that has lasted more than 40 years. Starting in 1977 with the release of his first single, “I’ve Got a Feelin’ (Somebody’s Been Stealin’)”, Anderson has charted more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, including five number ones: “Wild and Blue”, “Swingin’”, “Black Sheep”, “Straight Tequila Night”, and “Money in the Bank”. He has also recorded 22 studio albums on several labels. His newest album, Years, was released on April 10, 2020, on the Easy Eye Sound label and was produced by Nashville veteran producer David Ferguson and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. 10. 1959 (John Anderson, 1980)

“‘1959’ was John Anderson’s third single, and it featured on his self-titled debut album. It was Anderson’s first single to reach the top ten, as it reached number seven on the country charts in the United States and number four in Canada. The song was written by Gary Entry, and it is a reflection of the things that happened in the narrator’s life during 1959, including a relationship with a girl called Betty.”

9. Chicken Truck (John Anderson 2, 1981)

“‘Chicken Truck’ was the second single Anderson released from his second album, ‘John Anderson 2,’ and it reached number eight on the country chart in the United States. Anderson co-wrote the song with Monroe Fields and Ervan James Parker. It is about a man’s experience of getting stuck behind a chicken truck heading from Georgia along Alabama State Route 65.”
