10. Like This (Ms. Kelly, 2007)

“I was never a fan of her solo-ly, but I do agree that this song was a mild hit, but should’ve been bigger. The production was big and the lyrics were yet another girl-power-anthem! For some silly reason I never tire of those!”

9. Dilemma (Suit, 2004)

“”Dilemna” is a well-constructed song, framed as a duet between the supposed couple of Nelly and Kelly Rowland. I am fond of Destiny’s Child, so hearing Kelly Rowland on the hook of the song is a pleasant surprise. Perhaps her singing/lyrics are a bit too clingy and dishonestly cheerful though.”

8. Dirty Laundry (Talk a Good Game, 2013)

“Being in an abusive relationship is isolating, and so many women don’t realize that these men basically follow the same script…Kelly manages to highlight some really common incidents in her own abusive experience without sounding like she is whining or filled with self pity. Part apology to family and friends who she distanced herself from at the time, and part confessional of how one woman managed to sever ties with such a controlling partner; this song is a raw, painfully-honest account.”

7. When Love Takes Over (When Love Takes Over, 2009)

“This song captures what I like to call “magic euphoria”. A feeling that goes beyond the features of the song and transcends to an indescribable sensation of elation. The release and swell of the synths in the chorus along with the powerful commanding vocals acts as a shock to the system. The songs each layer feels perfectly engineered while somehow still having an element of unpredictability. The funny thing about the song is that it makes me have insecure thoughts about the future, the despondent synth tones somehow trigger untapped emotions.”

“This song was very well done and she looks amazing in this video. She deserves to have more exposure. This song is so amazing it should of been a huge hit very underrated song but I absolutely love it.”

5. Still in Love with My Ex (Ms. Kelly, 2007)

“This has to be one of my favorite Kelly Rowland songs. It’s beautiful, melodic, and sad… it also has this Usher feel to it that makes me wish that they would do a duet.”

4. Work (Ms. Kelly, 2007)

“Remember this song on the radio a lot. listening to it while exercising on treadmills. Kelly is one of those underrated singers & comparing her to Beyonce is unfair, each one has her own style, regardless on the fact that they were once in the same band.”

3. Stole (Simply Deep, 2002)

“For Kelly Rowland, she had a whole lot to prove as being one-third of Destiny’s Child. Nevertheless, she already proved it with her first solo record, Simply Deep. The first single of the album, Stole, is a very crafty and difficult song to really talk about. It talks about people often saying bad things about kids and ignoring them constantly, and seeing what could’ve happened to them if they were treated differently. When I saw the video for this song, I just shed a couple of tears for a personal reason I could relate to that song. Many people think that Beyonce Knowles was the whole package of Destiny’s Child, largely because she was the lead vocalist, but when I heard Kelly on her own, it was amazing.”

2. Keep It Between Us (Here I Am, 2011)

“This is such a beautiful song.  I love Kelly Rowland’s songs like this.  Such a beautiful heart and she’s a beautiful person!  She’s a true heart and very talent”

1. Commander (Here I Am, 2011)

“This song is such a dance track. I love it!! Now the lyrics are not a masterpiece, but what dance song possesses that quality? Trust me, just try this song one day when you are ready to move and grove. You’ll be happier for it.”
