Kyle T Hurley explores identity and acceptance on ‘She’s A Good Boy’

American singer-songwriter Kyle T Hurley continues the build towards his forthcoming album KTH 3:16 with new single ‘She’s A Good Boy’, drawing on a real-life encounter to explore identity, resilience and the complexities that often exist beneath first impressions.

Now working extensively in London, Hurley wrote the song after getting to know someone whose personal experiences gradually emerged through their conversations. An old British expression also helped shape the track, which reflects on the assumptions people make about one another and the realities that can remain hidden from view.

The single forms part of KTH 3:16, due September 11, and continues Hurley’s combination of country, blues and rock influences. The album was produced and recorded by Jack Trouble through Camden-based Spiritual Records, with label founder Rafael Pesce also helping Hurley develop the direction of the project.

Hurley has additionally enlisted six-time Grammy-nominated filmmaker Tony Kaye, whose credits include American History X and music videos for Johnny Cash, Soul Asylum and Red Hot Chili Peppers, to create the artwork for both the single and album.
