Lady Gaga Albums Ranked

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (/ˈstɛfəni ˌdʒɜːrməˈnɒtə/ STEF-ən-ee JUR-mə-NOT-ə) (born March 28, 1986), known professionally as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her consistent image reinventions and versatility in both music and entertainment. Gaga began performing as a teenager, singing at open mic nights, and acting in school plays. She studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21, through New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, before dropping out to pursue a career in music. When Def Jam Recordings canceled her contract, she worked as a songwriter for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, where she signed a joint deal with Interscope Records and Akon’s label, KonLive Distribution, in 2007. She rose to prominence the following year with her debut album The Fame and its chart-topping singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”. The album was later reissued to include the EP The Fame Monster (2009), which yielded the singles “Bad Romance”, “Telephone”, and “Alejandro”. Here are all of Lady Gaga albums ranked.

9. The Remix (2010)

“I would say this album is ether for hard core fans or DJ’s & people who like club music. It’s very club & I think it shows the side of Gaga that is great. Her art pop album has a lot of what this album had & that’s why it’s very club. Tbh some remixes are better then original versions of the song. The star smith remix of bad romance is retro & its amazing! I think that should have been the original version over the album version.”

8. Hitmixes (2009)

“Lady Gaga’s voice is natural.  Her personality is golden, and she exhibits a certain charisma that other pop stars really need to learn from, something that makes people want to listen to her speak and sing whether they like her music (or her genre) or not.”

7. A Very Gaga Holiday (2011)

“An excellent Christmas release! I hope she and Tony do a holiday EP together! The Edge Of Glory is one of her greatest songs and Gaga took it to the next level with this rendition, White Christmas is a classic and Gaga did it right! Does not disappoint”

6. Chromatica (2020)

“Her most consistent and fully realized project to date. It’s a grey-on-pink, Star Trek sci-fi meets Drag Race camp whirlwind, with a sound completely in love with the early 90s. Gaga arrived blazing into the pop world preaching self love and expression; now, however, she’s turned that message on herself, in what is a revealing album that deals with personal struggle and romantic trouble.”

5. Joanne (2016)

“What a great album. was a little disappointed when Perfect Illusion came out. but the album came to show me that she can do much more than that, the album has so many genres and is so different from all she have done, but I can still feel the roots of how she started up her career.”

4. Artpop (2013)

“This album features the usual catchy lyrics and serious undertones of life, whether they be hers related to fame or people in general. I play this album when I need an emotional pickup or to just start the day. I would say my least favorite song on the album is between Dope and Swine because I personally don’t care for the sadder songs nor constant screechy ones.”

3. The Fame (2008)

“Lady Gaga sounds too clearly as a throwback to synthpop and disco, while it pretty much surprised me to find the disco influence in Kylie’s music because it is much subtler. And I guess that’s the difference between an artist that makes what he/she just likes to make and an artist that clearly has an idea from the start like “I wanna sound like this”. And that clearly shines through in tracks where you clearly hear she applies someone else’s style from other artists like “Starstruck”, “Paper Gangsta” (both Uffie), and “Boys Boys Boys” (Britney). The first few songs are very Lady Gaga though, and hence I think this album is still a must to have listened.”

2. Born This Way (2011)

“One of the greatest albums of all time. Lady Gaga at the height of her career (so far) didn’t follow the radio trends to make another hit album but she used her power to influence the political state. Preaching about LGBTQ+ Rights, Feminism, Immigration, depression, religion, betrayal, self-liberation, death… It truly was ahead of its time. From the masterpiece that is “Marry The Night” arguably her greatest songs to the finale that is “The Edge Of Glory” a powerful ballad that can power a stadium …this album defines a generation. Other highlights include the synth-pop “Heavy Metal Lover” and the dark fan-favorite “Bloody Mary” Lady Gaga is looked down upon as a female pop star but she isn’t just another Britney Spears… she is a true artist with a lot more to offer.”

1. The Fame Monster (2009)

“Beneath the meat dresses and weird for weird’s sake persona lies a handful of generic electropop tracks with a passable voice. Who knew. There are catchy tunes on this EP, however, she has absolutely nothing (new) to say and most songs on here are sort of bland. Decent in comparison to mainstream pop in 2009, but really this isn’t anything to fuss over.”
